Lousy performance! Sent mine back.

So when my new Roomba was doing a lousy job (going over and over areas while leaving dog hair and dead bugs behind) and needing so much attention to keep the bin empty, the brushes clean, and the unit unstuck, I called customer service. I happened to mention that my great room measures 33 x 31 and the woman said, "Oh, well, it's not designed to handle a room that big." Well, where in all your marketing does it say that? She recommended I try using a lighthouse back to back with a wall to try to fool Roomba into thinking it was a smaller room. It didn't work. I called back. The guy said, "Yeah, well maybe if you buy more lighthouses--but there is no guarantee it will ever work." It was like having a toddler that needed constant attention and diaper changes.
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Doesn't handle big rooms, Frequent Maintenance, Noisy

Warning! All roombas do not work on dark surfaces. I bought a new living room rug -- an oriental rug that has a lot of navy blue and black in it. None of my roombas would work on the carpet. I called the company and they said that no roomba works on dark surfaces. They would not refund me the price of my roomba because I had owned it more than 30 days. I wonder what other problems they are not forthright about?

The Roomba 780 cleans and looks better than ALL uprights.
Pros: Easy To Use, Extends Functionality, He cleans up very good, Time saver
Cons: A little loud but its ok

My husband and I both agree that this was our best purchase of 2011! We have used our Roomba non-stop for almost 2 years now. We use it about 5-6 times a week. We run it upstairs one day and downstairs the other day. We figure it saves us about 5-6 hours a week in vacuuming. With 3 pets it really is a huge time-saver and does a fantastic job. We couldn't love it more and we just purchased a Scooba. Hope it is as great as our Roomba.

Why didn't I buy this sooner? "Rosie" cleans the floors as well as expensive high-end upright vacuums claim to, but it runs itself. I just set it down (or let it back away from its dock) and go off to do something else. My children hurry to pick up their rooms because having "her" clean the floors is a reward. Maintenance is a snap - it's even fun! It's now so easy to keep the floors clean and the dust removed, I can't live without it!

NEED ANOTHER

Ive seen these robots for many years and never believed they could live up to the advertising. They do!!!! Begins cleaning everyday at 8am then puts himself away. I can't believe how much he picks up when vacuuming every day. With 2 chihuahuas he's a lifesaver (not to mention my back)great device. Now I want another for downstairs. Thanks Irobot.

Best Investment ive made in a long time

I have had Buddy for about a month now.. I call him Buddy because he has been so helpful.. I have a large boxer who sheds little pokie hairs all over my house and has been excellent at taking care of them. I used to sweep daily and there would still be hair all over. When i got buddy I ran it every day for a week now he runs himself everyother day and i get 1/4 of the hair. It runs fairly quiet i can clean my entire house while he runs. I just turn on the tunes and its great. He cleans great, i have a few rugs and mats and you can see the entire surface is covered when he's done. He even picks up stray dog crunchy food 3/4 inch wide.. It did take a week of strategically placing the virtual lighthouses to help buddy get through my house due to my floorplan and a long hallway but he gets everywhere. Has gotten stuck a few times, got behind a door and locked in the office, had a fight with the swifter vac.. found him raming it in the closit one day.. but overall not bad things, just typical things one could expect from a robot house vac. Overall saves me time and lets me clean a lot quicker One con is the touch sensors are really sensitive and the dog has turned him on a few times .. witnessed ... and changed things /times and he went off at 4am one day... husband was not too happy but... overall great.

I've tried 4 models. Original Discovery Model 4270. Loved it. Picked up very well hard to clean but worth it. Small problems, great Customer Service though, they really care & do all possible until problem solved! Thumbs up!! Main complaint, expensive compared to only lasting 3yrs. Can't live without though. The 780 surprised me. Also bought 563 Pet Series. Ran both separate, then together. The 780 blew cat hair & dirt detect missed it & moved on. 563 Pet model picked up hair,etc., first pass. This model ran & ran until low battery plus docked itself. 780 ran 1/2 as much time with full battery but returned to dock? Both simple to clean, 780 concealed ends of brushes better system. Brushes on both clogged 1st 3 cleanings. After that, just empty bin & clean the filters. Love that improvement. Prior to purchase I have Central Vac, great but Robots due a better job. 3yrs ago bought my son 580, perfect! Used my daughters 560, ran too fast, tangled brushes & did not pick up well. Old style brushes, I'd buy new component which they install in newer models. All in all comparing models I'm keeping the Pet Model. I will never be without my Robot! So glad they continue to improve but would clean brushes if my Discovery still worked. Trust me, buy 1 or 2, you'll realize you can't live without! My 1600sqft house has wood floors, tile & area (sm/lg) rugs. Cleans so well you have to buy & try. Trust me, you'll realize how much. dirt a regular Vac leaves behind!!
