I could not get the cable to transfer my info from old computer to new one. It may have had something to do with my old system. Returned the item

A waste of money

The instructions are very very poor and make no sense at all. I could not transfer any files even with the help of other people.The idea is great if the instruction were made clearer.

it was easy to use and it did what it said it would. It fit on both computers and the transfer was fast. I liked the fact that HP was able to recommend this product to me as I was not aware that a product like this existed. I would recommend this to anyone needing a fast way to transfer you information from one computer to another.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was hopeful this would expedite the transfer of files and programs from my very old Windows XP model to the new HP Windows 8 version; but no. It took several failed tries to make the program work on the old machine and a call to tech support to discover that the enclosed program does not work with Windows XP Service Pack 3. They said it would have worked with older XP service packs, but not this one. Oops. Waste of money and lots of time. Hope they will advertise that up front in the future.

Unworkable for XP to Win 8.1

The write-up on the product made it sound like the ideal product to transfer my files from my old PC running Windows XP to my brand-new one running Windows 8.1. Unfortunately, I could never make it work. Even loading the included software on the old PC (which loaded correctly) it could never establish the USB connection between the two computers. I'm having to resort to transferring files via memory stick.

Product has no ability to transfer from Windows XP to Windows 8.
My fault for not asking SPECIFIC questions about the product but if you are attempting an XP transfer look for something else !
