Microwave function dropped dead

Bought in 2010, but for a summer vacation home where it gets light use for only two months a year, so its actual age at death last Fall was about 14 months at most. We were going to call our excellent repairman but, according to the reviews, the problem is most likely the magnetron and a replacement will also fail in a short time, so we'll have to spring for purchase and installation of new micro-convection, which very definitely will NOT be a Whirlpool.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Whirlpool Quaity!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my front loader in 2006 and it was in storage for a 1 year. As of today, it washes like it did on day one! I hope they keep making them to last for a while.

Needs parts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this brand new and used it properly for several years. I can replace parts as needed but when the main spindle started to wobble I could not find the part to repair the unit. This part failure is common to this model. We used the machine as instructed so it took the defect longer to fail. By the time ours failed Whirlpool had discontinued the new tub and spindle.
We found a new Whirlpool washer and dryer set and have been using them without problems.
I like the Whirlpool brand but I think common failure parts should be readily aavilable.
