The product does what it is intended to do. I answered the questions correctly, filled in the blanks correctly, and the program did the rest of the work. The final result came out perfect.
I found only one issue. Click on the "FORMS" icon, a window opens. Click on "Form 1040 and Schedules (US Individual Income Tax) Final", and Form 1040 and the schedules do not appear. Call it what you want, but as far as I'm concerned, the information that does appear is mostly useless.
Yes, I know how to circumvent the situation. Should I have to? No. Even though this is a minor issue, it shouldn't exist.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I have used H&R Block Software for several years and have found it easy to follow, and covers all the items I needed very thoroughly.

I purchased this online, the download was smooth and the instructions and updates we're so very easy to follow.The state download was also a breeze to download. Within a few hours my income tax return was on it's way to the IRS.

Great federal; state no so much

The federal went well. The state (KY) tried to charge me for an underpayment of my estimated taxes. It did not import my last year's tax - it showed zero. Even so, this year's estimated payments were greater than zero, so it should not have charged me for the penalty. When I manually entered last year's tax, it corrected the error and removed the charge. If I hadn't manually reviewed the documents, it would have been submitted with the error.
I would like the program to ask for estimates of deductible items (taxed, donations, healthcare, etc.) for both state and federal to determine if itemizing is feasible, rather than having you go through the tedious process of entering everything, then finding out you wasted your time.
