OK for the basics, but not helpful at all related to k-1 partnership entries, and the last question before e-filing asks for AGI, but pre-filled in Taxable Income. If you get that question wrong, you are unable to e-file!
Such a basic error in the process and I was doing my taxes on October 13, 2026. That should have been corrected in one of the 'updates'. Also calculating late payment penalty was a circular nightmare and never did work!

I've used this software for, I think, over 10 years. It is easy to use and helpful when I have questions. My only problem, which is significant, is that it fails to import large batches of investment sales from Fidelity Investments, stalling during the process.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

Getting too complicated for me. I'll look at other vendors next year. Also, entirely too many "agreements" and CYA statements to go through after doing the necessary steps and just trying to pay and close the program. Too many "ads" for "premium" versions through the program.

H&R Block software made it convenient to file my taxes from home, and most of the screens are intuitive and easy to follow. The overall filing process is straightforward for basic tax situations. However, there are some limitations when it comes to investment accounts, as imports from certain large financial institutions are not supported. Additionally, the software does not effectively support importing 1099-B PDFs as-is, which means users must manually enter individual transactions. For taxpayers with numerous investment trades, this process can be very time-consuming and cumbersome. Improving investment account integration and 1099-B import capabilities would significantly enhance the user experience.
