You missed a big error that caused me to re-file

Program is ok but I experienced a major issue which I wish you had caught!
Last year my daughter was 23 and a full time student. This year she was 24 and was not. So you carried her forward as a dependent, which I didn’t catch and didn’t remove. I filed with her as a dependent.
Then, using the same program on the same laptop, she filed her own return and stated that she was not being claimed as a dependent on anyone else’s return. She filed and the IRS rejected her return since her SSN was identified on my return as a dependent.
So as a result, I had to refile, and she has to refile.
This could all have been avoided if you did a simple check to see if a SSN on one return is incorrectly indicated as a dependent on another return. Pretty unhappy that you didn’t flag this. I’ve been using H&R Block for at least 25 years but this has finally pushed me over the edge. Next year I’ll use TurboTax.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The H&R program keeps asking me if I want to buy the State program knowing the State I live in doesn't have an income tax. Also, has our ages, but ask us things that are unrelated to our age. And, no future summary to help us with our next tax year, this would be extremely helpful!!!

I am familiar with the H&R Block software and have used it for years. The interview process picks up all necessary information. It also computes whether to take the standard deduction or itemize. With my taxes, its best for the standard deduction on federal, but carries my entries over to the state where the itemized deduction is better. I can also create itemized lists for certain entries, i.e. multiple property taxes, but I wish there was an easier way to print out the specific lists with the print function.
