I have used Block Deluxe software for many years. The 2025 edition was very difficult to work with.
I believed I would not have any federal tax due but I still needed to work thru the Block program.
It took several hours in each of 4 days and several 1099's for savings had to be requested. Other family members had negative comments about apparent AI inclusions in your 2025 software.

The software is easy to use and thorough. I am disappointed because the explanations of how to fix items that come up during the accuracy reviews are sometimes inadequate. I got a data error that I had to fix before I could efile my federal return, and I could not figure out how to fix it. It was difficult to find a live person to ask about it, and when I did she said she couldn't help because she was not a tax expert. The message had to do with needing a valid copy of a worksheet which has nothing to do with taxes. It was extremely frustrating and not customer friendly.
Cons: Hard to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

For the first time in many years of using H&R Block's product, I had an issue with a K-1 that I could not file my return without a software update that was not coming. Because I purchased my software through a third party, I could not get a refund for the software. I may have to switch to Turbo Tax next year after 20+ years of using Tax Cut and the follow on H&R Block's product.

Since the tax software came on a disk, I have only used H and R Block software after years of doing my taxes by hand. I majored in finance. It is the simplest and easiest way to get your taxes done. They walk you through the process step by step. Submit them and even notify you that they wwre accepted. It is the most accurate and quickest way to file.

I had completed the program and efiled my federal return. My plan was to print the state return and mail it. I put that off till the next day. When I came back to the state program it was gone, so was the federal. YES, I saved it. I searched everywhere, in all the places I save things. It was not to be found. I had to download the program again and start all over.
I have used this software for a long time. This was truly a significant inconvenience.
