[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had decided to replace my Norelco 9000 series, which was about 7 years old. The i9000 Prestige Ultra was much heavier and larger. I could never get it paired with the Philips grooming app. Shaving my mustache was difficult because of the wide borders around the shaving heads. It shaved no closer than the old shaver. I was so disappointed that I returned the shaver to Philips for a refund.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the military for over 30 years and always used a razor (daily). Lately, I started to develop a few irritating bumps after shaving so I decided to try an electric razor and honestly, I was very skeptical. I was even more skeptical and hesitant about spending as much as I did on this razor but figured I wanted the best I could get and the reviews backed it up. The shave is amazingly close; clean-up is a breeze; the time it takes to recharge and how long it holds a charge is great; and the information shared by the app is very helpful. My only complaint about this razor is the trimmer attachment. I was extremely disappointed that such a worthless trimmer attachment came with such an expensive and otherwise outstanding electric shaver. I wish there was a better trimmer attachment and will be shopping to see if one is available.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have very sensitive skin and my traditional razor with shaving cream was making my skin look blotchy so I thought I would give this razor a try and haven’t stopped using it since. If you have sensitive skin it’s highly recommended. It’s highly recommended if you don’t have sensitive skin . The only thing I could suggest is maybe adding a nose hair trimmer attachment to the package would’ve loved to have had that. so regardless of your skin type, I highly suggest this razor you’ll be happy you bought it and it’s performance thank you for making such a wonderful product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a Norelco shaver user for many, many years. My last shaver was the 9000 Prestige and the connection of the shaver head with the body of the shaver wore out and thus the shaver head kept dropping off its mount in the middle of a shave. This new shaver has a much-improved connection between the shaver head and the body and I am hopeful it will last longer. I appreciate also the button-based menu's on the actual shaver (the screen). The shaver monitoring features are interesting and potentially useful but not fully realized. For example, connection with Bluetooth goes out and has trouble coming back on, so sometimes the pressure and motion screens do not come on when starting the shaver. Also, and perhaps more importantly, the algorithms for determining when the shaver is providing the ideal amount of pressure and motion (especially circular motion), seem off and do not track with what I experience when I am actually using it. Example: for motion, the shaver indicator on the app never actually goes to the end of the high range, but rather stays and the low to middle end of okay, and it too easily provides an overly harsh and negative assessment of my shaving, which does not seem to match what I see when I am viewing the needle moving. Also, the pressure sensor seems to swing wildly, even within the green, when I am using constant pressure. The original sensors seemed to be overly positive, rating all my shaves highly, but when the update came along, suddenly I was getting much lower scores, especially for circular motion. I am a psychometrician and know a lot about measurement and these measures do not seem to track with my actual experience watching the dials while shaving, so I am guessing reliability and validity are both on the low end. What will happen, I predict, is that many users will stop using the app and/or not pay attention and just use the shaver for the positive aspects, the close shave they get and the convenience. I am starting on this pathway and getting a low score does not help; I may choose to ignore it rather than modify my shaving behavior (I have tried and do not seem to be getting better).
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice shaver—I only wish it didn’t sound like it was straining during use, likely because of its plastic construction..
