Disappointed. Needs a real manual!

I could not get past the hieroglyphics instructions. And when I finally attempted to use this shaver, I realized this was no longer the Norelco from the 1960s and 70s.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Norelco for years and a have always been totally pleased. This is even better than any Norelco I've used before.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The i9000 Prestige Ultra is a superb rotary shaver that while best in its class is nevertheless, not perfect. First off, I currently own five Norelco shavers and have been using Norelco shavers for about forty years. It is because of my experience with these shavers that I can see both the pros and the cons of the current flagship. Pros: The have is close and comfortable. The shaver itself is quiet in operation. It has modes that adjust the speed of the shaver's blades from sensitive to regular to intense (and with the app and customization you can go to superintense). In addition, the Quick Clean pod provides a thorough cleaning and lubrication of the shaver's blades. It come with a very good travel case to protect the shaver when in transit. Lastly, I found it to be reasonably ergonomic and light in my hand with an easy to read LED display and there is an app (Groomtribe) to track and advise on your shaving technique as well as keep track of when to replace the cleaning cartridge and the blades themselves.
Cons: Whereas the three pentagonal heads are better than my older s9000 Prestige, they are still not as maneuverable as my older 9721 and 8900 Norelco shavers that had circular heads. Secondly, both the 8900 and 9721 have cleaning stations that in addition to cleaning and lubrication, actually dry the heads by means of a heating coil. In addition, the shape of the 9721 and 8900 shaver bodies is definitely more ergonomic and therefore easier to hold.
I will say that the i9000 Prestige Ultra has a flip top head allowing for easier manual cleaning with my previous two shavers do not have, however, my older 3900 Norelco has a flip top head AND a built-in trimmer so that I do not need to remove the entire head and attach an accessory trimmer which can easily get lost.
Back in the early 2000's I owned what is called the James Bond Norelco (due to its being used in one of the Bond movies). This model was the Spectra 8894XL and in my opinion, it was the pinnacle of Philips shaver development with a devolving from that point onwards rather than a positive evolution.
Having said all of this, I still enjoy my i9000 Prestige Ultra and will continue to use and enjoy it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first rotary. I struggle with the head dragging across my skin rather than gliding. Im not sure how to do better.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was apprehensive about spending the extra money for the i9000, as I previously used Norelco mid priced shavers. But this is a game changer. First shave close, no irritation, took less than 2 minutes to shave a moderate heavy beard.
Excellent shave, very quick to use and leaves skin smooth with not stubble. Easy to clean & charge. Like it so much I have ordered a second one as a gift.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the fact that the shaver has a setting for sensitive skin that allow me to shave every day if I want without irritating my face. I also like the hinge on the blades allowing me to rinse them in warm water after each shave to keep them clean. I use the cleaning system about every two weeks to assure the blades are clean and lubricated. I also periodically take a blade apart to assure that it is not building dirt.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Poor explanation of graphs. Poor instruction information.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
