[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't used an electric razor in years. I decided to get this after I read and watched a few reviews. I have been very happy with it. It can give me a nice close shave.
I'm extremely pleased with my i9000 Prestige Ultra XP9400/89 Wet&Dry Electric Shaver, if fact, I would say it's the best electric shaver I've ever owned. It's definitely an upgrade over my last two top of the line Philips Norelco shavers which I also felt were great shavers, but this shaver unquestionably gives a better, closer shave. I think the extra power available with this shaver makes a difference. The ease of use is amazing, it's so easy to clean, and comfortable to hold. I like every aspect of this model. I also have a top of the line Braun shaver (gifted to me), but I'm selling it, because as soon as I got this shaver I stopped using the Braun.
The UV cleaning unit/travel charger case is very nice as well, but I recommend making sure the shaver head is dry when you put it in the UV device otherwise it develops a funky smell that is quite noticeable when you next shave with it. The problem I have with the UV device is that IMO it's too bulky to travel with, if you're traveling light, and here's the kicker and the reason I took away a star from my rating: Philips Norelco outright refused to sell me the plain case that fits this shaver. It's like I was trying to steal it or something, they would not consider selling it to me in any way. If I want the case I'd have to buy another of these shavers in a set that includes the plain vanilla case. I just don't understand that. I almost took away 2 stars from my rating, but the shaver is just too good to do that. If you're ok with the case issue I highly recommend this device, you won't regret it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While individual results vary, I find the Prestige Ultra to only be an average shaver. In my case, I find a regular bladed razor to be superior and quicker. For me, the Ultra takes longer and is very irritating on my face. I purchased this razor for times when access to running water is not available. I compared the Ultra to a quite old foil type razor with the original blades and find the old foil type to be equal if not slightly better on certain facial areas getting whiskers cut shorter that the Ultra could not get. I was able to purchase this razor during a limited time sale, if not for that cost savings I would have returned it. I do not find the Ultra to be worth the cost. I am in my 60's and with that my face is no longer that of a tight skinned younger person, and possibly part of the reason for the lack of good performance for me. I gave this shaver a 3 star rating which is generous on my part considering the current price tag. I have been using this shaver for a while as to give my face some time to adjust and give an honest review.
I have used Philips Norelco's for a good 40+ years. Great Product, and this i9000 shaver was exceptional. Of course, on my try, I couldn't keep the light senser green most of the time during the shave (~46%). I'll get it right, I'm sure soon. The only drawback was no USB Charger came with the package. Minor detail, I know, but I didn't have one the first day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, this is a great razor and I would definitely recommend the cleaning pods, they keep it fresh.
Pros: Pretty quick shave, especially when comparing it to a manual razor It holds charge for a while, I went on a 2 week vacation and after using it every other day and not charging it, it was at 62% when I got home. The sensitivity settings are nice. Razors usually hurt my face, especially my neck. I started with sensitive for 2 weeks, then moved up. Neck "burn" only happened firstn2 shaves. Last time I had an electric razor it was always.
Cons: It misses a lot on my neck and requires double or even triple the time on my neck as it does on my face.
