Portable and actually does what it says!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The item is really complex, but not horribly difficult to use. Removing specific instruments and vocals is great for lots of purposes and works well. Being light and compact, but with the punch expected from a JBL speaker makes it great for travel and any time a full session is not on the agenda. I have serious doubts about AI, but this seems to work as promised!

Perfect Little Sound Extractor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bandbox Solo has the expected sound clarity I have found in my collection of JBL portable Bluetooth speakers. As usual, it is a lightweight and small unit that outputs surprisingly large sound without any distortion. This little baby has the advanced ability to allow for the reduction or removal of different parts of the music. Onboard controls are extremely simple, one button to press for Stem AI function, and a large sturdy button/jog wheel to switch between three different separations and their levels (zero, 50% and 100%) from the base track. There are many other features and submenus controllable from the unit, but the JBL ONE app provides much more manipulation of sound and adds more sound effects and filters with greater precision of their control. As a singer and a beat poet, I will be using the Beatbox Solo to practice rapping over the beats used by my favorite artists.

Amazing unique AI features.

got it today and tried it out. It looks small but sounds big and works great for practice of singing.
But I wish it had the adjustments for fx and pitch etc. on board in addition to the app.

So many features in such a little package.

Not only have we used it as a speaker we also found that it is so much better to have as an amp for our electric acoustic guitar. We also loved hou easy it is to use to to tune our guitar. It is extremely well built. We have had absolutely no problems with it and love how easy it is to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using the getting started QR code, the video demonstration helps a lot with how to use the JBL Bandbox. It's rather simple and easy to use. I use it for vocal practice when I need to adjust my lyrics, but also remember what I had previously attempted in recording. There is a delay when silencing the vocals' mid song, which is a bit disruptive. But the spund quality is great and adjustable through the JBL One app. The build is durable and looks to hold up well if dropped or gotten wet. I can see my band mates enjoying the guitar option as well.

Portable quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The beatbox solo is a Bluetooth speaker the doubles as a guitar amp and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces of gear. I can practice without irritating my tinnitus! it's small enough to fit in a gig bag with my guitar, and puts out surprisingly full clear sound for size. When you unbox it the weight in the hand is indicative of its quality! The few built in guitar tones are better than I expected but could use more variety. No one will mistake it for a tube amp but still good! the whole system is simple to navigate whether with its on board controls or the JBL app. The JBL one app is its biggest brag. It's AI instrument removal feature lets me strip out guitar parts from strong so I can jam along. Paired with my wireless system it gives me a portable clutter free setup that I can use anywhere without dragging out a full heavy amp. What is really cool is the aesthetic. It naturally fits into my living room. My wife normally frowns upon gear in the living room but it's unobtrusive and looks blends in. I would recommend this to any of my musician friends due to the quality of JBL and it's cool features and portability.

Small, fun, and loud.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a little practice amp that I could take anywhere but this thing is so much more than that. It’s small but loaded with features. Not only is it a great sounding Bluetooth speaker, it’s a practice amp loaded with amp modeling presets. It has Stem AI that gives you the ability to remove or isolate the guitar, vocals, and drums in any combination. Perfect for jamming or learning a song. Plug in a guitar, a microphone, or use the built in mic. When connected to the JBL One app you can adjust all the parameters of the amp modeling presets or build your own. It also has things like a 7 band graphic equalizer, a tuner, a pitch shifter, a metronome, and a looper. You can control everything right from your phone when connected to the app.

Music, Practice, and Fun Wherever You Go

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL BandBox Solo honestly surprised me. For how small it is, it packs a ton of features and is easily the most versatile speaker I’ve ever owned. It has that classic JBL sound with clear, crisp highs and mids, and it gets loud enough to fill a room without any distortion, and amazing build quality.
You can plug instruments straight into it using the 1/4" input jack, which makes it great for quick practice sessions or jamming without needing extra gear. It’s simple, convenient, and just works.
The stem separation is what really sets it apart. The way it works is truly impressive and super easy to use. I showed it to some musician friends and they were really impressed with it.
Being able to isolate or mute vocals, guitar, or drums in real time makes practicing way more fun and a lot more useful. Or even fun for karaoke with friends and family.

I also really like the interface. The buttons are clear and easy to understand, the LED pixel screen shows most of the info you need without having to open the app, and having an actual volume and control knob just feels right.
The app itself is easy to use and adds even more. You can adjust the EQ, control stem separation, use the tuner and metronome, and tweak the sound depending on what you’re doing without digging through menus.
It’s super portable, easy to take anywhere to practice or just listen to music. I even used it with a JBL wireless microphone (not included), and it sounded great. When you think about how many different audio components you’d normally need to get this level of flexibility, it’s kind of crazy that JBL packed it all into something that fits in the palm of your hand.
Battery life is good too, I get around 5 hours of playtime at high volumes.
Overall, it sounds great and does way more than you’d expect from something this small.
