The Best Foldable Phone I've Ever Owned – Samsung
on August 6, 2026
Posted by: zaxlez
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Galaxy Z Fold8 for a while now, and I can honestly say it's my favorite smartphone I've ever owned.
Samsung has refined almost every aspect of the Fold series. The phone feels lighter, thinner, and much more comfortable to use than previous generations. Both the cover display and the large inner screen are beautiful, with vibrant colors, excellent brightness, and smooth performance.
The multitasking experience is where the Z Fold8 truly shines. Running multiple apps side by side feels natural, and the large display has significantly improved both my productivity and entertainment. Reading, browsing, watching videos, and gaming are all fantastic on this device.
Performance is incredibly fast. Apps launch instantly, multitasking is effortless, and everything feels fluid. The battery easily gets me through a full day of normal use, and the software experience is polished and reliable.
Most importantly, the Z Fold8 has changed the way I use my phone. It's not just a smartphone—it's also a mini tablet that I actually carry everywhere. Once you get used to the large inner display, it's hard to go back to a traditional phone.
Overall, Samsung has done an outstanding job with the Galaxy Z Fold8. If you're considering a foldable phone, I highly recommend it. It's an expensive device, but in my opinion, it's absolutely worth the investment.

Replaced my tablet and my phone in one
on August 6, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Galaxy Z Fold 8 after years of carrying a standard slab phone, and the big screen stopped feeling like a novelty almost immediately. My work involves a lot of reading — long documents, code, spreadsheets — and unfolding to read a full page without pinch-and-zoom has changed how much I get done away from my desk.
Split screen is where it earns its keep. I'll keep notes on one side and a browser on the other while working through a problem, or a video on one half and messages on the other in the evening. Folded, it still handles like a normal phone for one-handed replies and navigation.
I travel internationally a few times a year, and the AI translation features have been useful for actual conversations, not just reading menus. The unfolded screen also makes long flights far better for reading and shows.
The hinge feels solid, the crease is less noticeable than I expected, and the battery gets me through a full day of heavy use. Using the outer screen as a preview when someone else is taking the photo is a small thing I now rely on constantly.
It's a lot of phone, but it replaced my tablet outright, and after a few weeks I can't picture going back to a single screen.

Great new form factor!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this after owning a z fold 6 and a z fold 7. I loved the folding phones for watching videos and web browsing but always wanted a wider design for media consumption without having to rotate the phone. This is exactly what I wanted and Samsung nailed it! Very happy with my purchase!

Best pocket size phone
on August 6, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 because it's exceptionally compact but still serves a great purpose once you open it. I've owned every Galaxy Fold since the Fold 4, and I remember unboxing that first one. It was a beast of a phone, honestly closer to a paperback than something pocket-friendly.
The first thing I did when I opened the box wasn't turn it on, it was just hold it. Closed, it's so slim I kept checking if I'd grabbed the wrong phone. It genuinely feels like carrying a small notepad instead of a folding computer. That's the upgrade I've been waiting for since the Fold 4.
Open it up and it becomes a full canvas, perfect for the moments that actually need the extra screen, without feeling like I'm carrying a tablet around all day.
What impresses me most isn't one single spec, it's how unnoticeable the compromises have become. The early Folds made you feel that trade-off between phone and tablet. This one doesn't. It just feels like the right size, all the time.
Four generations in, this is the first Fold that's made me stop thinking about the fold and just enjoy the phone.

This mobile is for the future, beautiful device!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this phone because this is so handy in terms of handling with one hand, the front screen size is so apt for day to day use. With the fold open it becomes a Tab itself, you can easily perform the office work. The build quality is rugged. Samsung has really worked so hard in practically diminishing the crease's visibility. Youtube videos works so well on the front screen itself. I preordered it, traded in my previous Galaxy Fold6 & got great discount as well. This mobile is for the future, it is a beautiful device! All in all a great device to have, its so slim & feather light.

Exactly what I needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously had the Z flip 5, which I have had now for three years. I loved having a smaller phone, but I also used it for it's bending capability. I planned on getting the new Z flip 8 but when I saw this model I knew it was for me. It's smaller than average phones, and of course it unfolds to a much larger screen. I've missed having a phone that I could use without opening it. Today was the first full day of using it and I used the front screen to watch some videos and slightly opened the phone so it stood on its own. Absolutely loved it. I will now watch movies on the inside screen and i can't wait. This is such a smart move for Samsung!!!!

The WIDE Has Arrived!
on August 6, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned every version of the Samsung Z Fold since the beginning and it gets better every year! Gen 6 got better by getting wider. Gen 7 got better by getting crazy skinnier. Gen 8 offers a whole new form factor that changes everything. I've been looking forward to this phone for a while now, but it's even more bananas than I expected. Closed it's unlike any phone I've ever used - in a good way. Feels great, looks great. Not even sure how to describe it yet - only been about 24 hours. But trust me, it's amazing and you have to try it for yourself. Open... for years I've been wishing somebody, anybody, would make a high end small Android tablet. This is it. The wide form factor, the not-too-glossy screen, the almost-not-there crease, the perfect hinge. The good enough for me cameras. Samsung crushed it with this one! Love this phone. I run 2 companies, but I'm no productivity monster - for me, a phone is escape - I love having a perfect ebook in my pocket. Glad I chose the wide screen and you should too!
