The phone I didn't know I was missing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Samsung z fold 8, as several years ago since I had a Galaxy Z fold 4, found it awesome, but it had issues since some sand worked it way into the hinge; destroying the screen. Even though this device is a different format, I found it easier to use. With the earlier fold device, It seemed to me every time I hauled it out of my pocket, I opened it. With the fold 8, I'd say I open it straight away out of my pocket probably 40% of the time, and the cover screen is just as good as the taller S24 I came from. Right now, I'm writing this review from my Fold 8. Using the cover screen while it's in a case feels like using an oddly semi-thick oddly sized phone. If anything piques your attention, snapping the phone open gives a tablet-level sized screen where you have more room to breathe, and don't feel like you are viewing pages through a soda straw. I recently took it on a 10-hour flight and didn't bring my laptop. To be honest, I didn't miss it at all. Yes, when open it is not quite as big as a laptop screen. But, for the level of mobility you get by the ability to fold it shut and drop it in your pocket is simply amazing, especially when traveling.

Enjoying new Z fold 8

size is surprisingly perfect

If the ultra's inhanced camera, features, and spen use were available in this size it would be absolutely perfect. this is the 3rd zfold I have owned. the zfold3 ripped at the fold. the zfold6, has a noticeable crease but continues to hold up after two years of daily use. the size of the zfold8 is great. fits in pocket better as it is not as long, it's not as thick, and not as heavy. the front screen is more user friendly than the previous two because of the width.

Zfold8 the good and not so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the z-fold eight because of how it felt better in my hands. When I type/text it is easier to hold and a wider screen. The wider screen when it is closed supports larger text. It is open I appreciate the wider screen for a more tablet like feel. I'm still getting used to the screen adjustments if I open my screen and turn it more vertical as of view, but I'm still learning the settings and how to make the screen the best way for what I like. So I will have to come back later and review more after I've had it for a little bit longer. However, I can tell you the couple things that are not so good. The camera is on the right side of the phone whether opened or closed, in its wider format, is troublesome because my finger often gets in the way of the camera when I'm holding the phone. This is a true issue: I have to remind myself to move my finger. My natural hold of my phone now puts my finger in the cameras view whether it is opened or closed in wide format.
Also, my default is to turn to put my phone in a vertical position is to turn it to the right. Now this will have you covering the entire camera with your hand. Therefore, it is much better to turn the phone to the left if you want to go vertical, and possibly take pictures. If you turn right you have access to your side buttons on the bottom. If you turn left the buttons are on the top. However, if you plan to use your camera it makes more sense to turn your phone to the left.

Perfect Daily Driver

A device I want to hold

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Z Fold 8 is an excellent device. Fast, responsive, great screen, great battery life, and good for entertainment and multitasking. I chose this device because I was very interested in the "passport" for factor and I've been so very pleased with it. I find myself wanting to grab it, both folded and unfolded. Excellent device!
