New one isn’t as strong as the one I purchased last year

Just purchased a replacement for my grip I got in May of 2025. My old one still worked great but was super scratched and just didn’t look nice anymore. Don’t get me wrong I loved it which is why I purchased a replacement in green. Unfortunately I’m noticing my new one isn’t as strong. On certain things I used to always stick my phone to (fridge, washing machine, gym equipment, etc) it starts sliding down and will fall off. The only physical difference I noticed with the grip is it doesn’t have the adhesive like the last one which I don’t mind as it made the old one hard to take off and it doesn’t seem to have effected the connection to my phone. I’ll see how this works over time but I might just switch back to my old one and try to paint it if i get annoyed by this one.

So I loved pop sockets and used them all the time. I got tired of having to take it off to charge thru MagSafe. So I found the ohsnap 4 and it worked for a long time. Loved the fact that it was stuck to my phone cause and I could charge thru it. Now my phone case was pretty old and I got a new case and apparently ohsnap 5 and this thing sucks. I usually stick my phone to my fridge to cook dinner and the new one slowly sides off my fridge while the old one I had to use force to take my phone off the fridge. Super disappointed in this new model. Now that there is no adhesive to this new one to my phone, my phone will probably just fall the the ground while I’m holding this new thing that is so much worse the the old one. 😢

First the good: Really sleek design, I like how thin it is and how strong the magnetic connection is. Being able to pass-through the charging function with magnetic chargers is a great feature as well. The bad: feels a bit flimsy, while it's held up quite nicely for the few weeks I've had it, the feel of it isn't as solid as I would've expected for the cost. Time will tell if it will hold up however the overall feel doesn't inspire a ton of confidence. IF the material used to connect the backplate to the round piece that protrudes was made of a stronger and more stable connector I'd give this the full 5 stars for the value of the price to match

Great grip. Pricy though. If it wasn’t for the sale I’d still be wanting one.
