The Z Fold 8's New Form Factor is Great!

I traded in a Z Fold 6 and I could never get used to the skinny screen when folder. Now there is so much more room on the cover screen which makes it more usable. I can finally type on the unwrapped keyboard. Great design Samsung!

The future is square

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 4th folding phone. ZFlip 3- Pixel Fold- ZFold 6- ZFold 8. I chose to upgrade exclusively because of the form factor. As someone that prefers a block-ier experience, this has been a dream. The ZFold 8 has provided the most joy already of any phone since my initial ZFlip 3.
It is hard to explain, but almost every app naturally feels better, the closer to square the forms became. Im not awkwardly stretching my hands at all. Videos look gorgeous and have less barren space. Books have a more natural aspect ratio to read on the unfolded screen. Heck, even playing music feels nostalgic. When closed, the ZFold 8 feels like a Walkman, but more futuristic.
My only complaint is the snapping open of the hinge. Not even for Flex Mode, like some folks, but because I like to hold the phone partially bent for reading. Even still, it splits more natural than candy bar designs.
The Fold lines are still something I wouldn't recommend unless you have a specific need it fills, but I can recommend this aspect ratio to any phone manufacturer.

Great phone and tablet wrapped into one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I truly was in need or a new phone and I have also wanted to purchase a tablet. I am familiar with the Galaxy Z fold 7 and when I got wind of Z fold 8 series I got happy.
I like the fact that I can have more screen real-estate when needed.

Trading in my old samsung and having an extra discount via ID.ME for veterans. I am happy I jumped to a bigger "ship"

Love these phones

If I had one complaint, some apps don't work in a certain direction, also some you have to force stop if you rotate the phone. These things get fixed. This will be the best phone on the market bar none.

I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a compact phone that’s also powerful. The picture quality is excellent, and the battery life is awesome. I think I’ll be sticking with this phone for a long time!

This Phone Z fold 8 was Just What I Needed!!

Always loved the functional and esthetic qualities of samsung phones and this model just proved what I have been thinking all this time. I use to listen to many YouTube videos and podcasts and the side screen size is perfect for my daily use. Thank you Samsung !!!!

Great new form factor

I love the passport form factor, which is really pocketable when folded and a ton of space to be productive and enjoy entertainment when unfolded. The build seems great too, I love the metal edges. Being able to use Samsung Dex opens a lot of possibilities for me as well since I can now use my phone's capabilities on a larger display. Overall I'm excited and glad I chose to go with the Fold 8.
