[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose to review the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 in graphite. It is the unlocked version with 512gb ram.
I previously owned the Z Fold 3 and 6 which were both great. But Samsung keeps improving them to in little ways that make a difference.
I do everything on this phone, and everything works, and looks so good!
I also love Android plus the OneUi software is great, so much customization!

Finally thin enough to actually carry

I choose the Z fold 8 mainly for the lighter, slimmer from factor after years on a standard ultra phone. The weight difference is noticeable right away, and the foldable display makes browsing and streaming much more comfortable than a regular screen.

I use it daily for work, messaging, and casual photography. The main camera handles everyday shots well. Build quality feels solid, no issues with the hinge so far.

A great upgrade if portability matters more to you than having the top-tier camera specs.

First Foldable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Samsung Z Fold8 for media consumption. I’m impressed by how light and thin the phone is! I’m used to using brick phones but when I heard about the Z Fold8, I knew that I needed to trade-in my Galaxy S28 Ultra because I consume content all the time. However, I was an unimpressed by the degradation of the audio, especially after using the S26 Ultra. It isn’t as loud and definitely not as clear for its price. So I still have to use my Galaxy Buds Pro to enjoy the content I’m consuming. Also the magnet… for a $2,000 phone, I don’t understand why Samsung did not include the magnet on the phone itself coz I use a magnetic phone grip. I don’t use this phone unfolded most of the time but the crease has become more significant. I’m afraid that after 6 months to 1 year, it’ll become annoyingly ugly. I also watched a video recently showing how foldable phones lose their value over time. So I’m afraid that next year when I trade this in to a new one, I won’t have significant trade-in credit to enjoy. On the other hand, I love the screen, it’s bright especially when I’m using it outdoors. It is so bright that I couldn’t use it when I’m trying read ebooks before sleeping. I wish Samsung can still tone it down when the brightness scroll is set all the way down, as well as using the Extra dim feature. But I like how responsive the screen is. Another thing that I like with the Z Fold8 is it’s size. It’s just perfect for two-hand use. I hope this expensive phone lasts longer.
