Great Trial of a totally different shape

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so pleasnt to see Samsung is willing to try a different shape of foldable phone. I started using the fold series since the 2nd generation and honestly I was tired of the controller shaped narrow outer screen. That shape of screen is so useless, and when unfolded, the inner screen is near a square, which is also somewhat unusable because of poor application adaptation. But now, everything has changed. The horizontal aspect ratio inner screen is much much much more usable, and the new shape opens up the door of more possibilities. I like this evolution. It really surprised me. I still have my fold 7 but as soon as I got my fold 8, I barely touched my 7. I'm so delighted by its weight too. It's super light weight and won't feel bulky even with a case. I hope Samsung continues to make more innovations and truly listens to customer demand. The only room for this phone to be better is that the screen size can be 10% to 15% largar. This way it is still portable and will be comfortable on hand, but will give a much larger screen for a better immersive experience.

Much better to use than the OG folds

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the original pixel fold, which I think had the best form factor out of any phones I've used. But that was years ago. Anyways had the fold 7, beautiful phone, but you'd literally get maybe .5 inch extra to view videos on the big screen. I chose the fat fold 8 this time and am so happy. I've used this phones inside screen more in the last week then I did on the fold 7 in the last 6 months. Some issues I gripe with is it doesn't have flex mode and the camera got bumped down. Also some apps do NOT work well on front screen. However it is still much more usable for me. Also Samsung went so cheap this time. No storage upgrade, complicated bonus discount that literally removed itself from my cart.

I had a galaxy z fold 6 and I loved that but my largest problem with it was how thin the device was. Also, the folding screen had began really waring out. I have already really enjoyed the wider typing on my z fold 8. And some things I noticed that I didn't expect were that the new antiglare screen is much better than I expected and the new found comfort in my pocket. The only complaint I have so far is that I wish it still had s-pen functionality.

The Phone That Does It All

I use it throughout the day for messaging, browsing, watching videos, managing emails, and staying organized. The larger unfolded display makes multitasking much more comfortable, especially when I want to use two apps without constantly switching between them. When folded, it still works well for quickly checking notifications and handling regular phone tasks. The Fold8 has made my daily routine more convenient and enjoyable, and it feels like having both a phone and a small tablet in one device.

The Galaxy Zed Fold 8- Performs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Fold 8 over the Fold 8 Ultra for a different experience. A different feel. What I hoped would be a more dynamic media streaming experience. I wanted an easier to hold product with streaming media that filled the unfolded screen with a truer aspect ratio. I got all of that and more! My only disappointment is the lack of stylus because this is the perfect product for one.
The web page experience is so much better than a standard smart phone display, with the wider view offering a full page experience and less need to be constant scrolling down to find the 'continue' button.
Reading ebooks is so much better than using a clunky tablet with the added feature of a more realistic page turning. This phone is so much lighter than a tablet reader, as well.
Spreadsheets (which I use a lot in my job) are a breeze to work with and I can see this replacing my laptop.
Holding and thumbing up text is confidant. I may even do less of the swipe typing now. I am an author and pounding out chapters and reviewing as I go is so much nicer.
The folded size is a big bonus. The ladies with shallow pockets will love this!
Battery life is satisfying
I would highly recommend the Z Fold 8
