Not a good toaster for the money.

It only toasts the bottom of the bread. I have been toasting twice but that really sucks. I have also turned the dial to darker but then it either burns or I have to keep popping it up to see if it's done or burnt.

We are sorry to hear that your bead does not toast evenly. We recommend setting the darkness setting to 4 and see if that helps. We hope that the more you use your appliance the more you will like it.

It's a nice toaster. Very pretty design and easy to use controls. Toasts well and even. The outer metal sides do not get hot when toasting I think due to it's double wall construction. Two minor issues: There is a slight odor from the toaster after toast is done. Tried toasting it off as suggested in the instructions but it still persists. I think it will eventually go away. Second minor issue is you have to push the start lever down with your fingers close to toaster. If you push down with your fingers at the edge of the push-down lever the toaster will tilt forward. People should consider this nicely designed toaster in their choice making.

Even Better Than I Had Hoped!

Even better than I had hoped--especially given its very reasonable cost. Compact (but with ample room for toasting everything from hand-sliced bread to bagels), very attractive appearance with just enough toasting options to be practical; and it works perfectly. Love that it is easy to maintain, too: the stainless resists finger marks and easily wipes clean, if needed. Great purchase!

I wanted a toaster that wouls toast evenly on all sides if a half bagel, one or two slices of bread. Not asking for much? This GE toaster did it! Yay, love my bread in the morning, BLTs etc.

Toaster settings misleading

The toaster works good but the settings are misleading. It must be turned to the lowest setting to get a regular toasted peice of bread.
