Two problems — even at a ‘1’ setting, toast isn’t very light. And one side is darker than the other. I’ll probably replace it later this year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This nice looking small appliance is great. Adjusts for bagels and frozen items. Lighted "cancel" button, pops the food up if you don't want to wait. Nice choice for any kitchen.
This toaster really looks good in a kitchen with stainless appliances. It toasts very well and I like the frozen setting. Note that you can't select 'frozen' and 'bagel' together, so it's one or the other.
I'm sold on GE appliances, due to the company policy for repairs (if necessary), are all done by GE repair service. I was never confident having just a handy man come and repair my appliances. GE repair knows their product!
