The most amazing hair tool from Dyson! I thought the Airwrap was great, especially when paired with the Corrale, and compared to everything else I've tried, they are great. But the Airstrait is on another level! I have gray hair which is thick, coarse and frizzy. Usually takes about 40 minutes to style with the Airwrap + Corrale. In 10 minutes the Airstrait dried my towel-dried hair, with no frizz needing to be managed by the Corrale. My hair felt soft and silky and looked exactly right. The Airstrait costs a lot of money but it is worth every cent.
I was shocked that this actually dried and straightened my frizzy difficult hair beautifully. Highly recommend if you’re going for a straight, sleek look. Not for the bouncy blowouts.
I absolutely love my New Dyson Airstrait straightener. It is so easy to use and cut my usual blow/straighten routine time by at least half. I have thick and long hair to my waist, I have to separate the hair into two layers, smaller segment at a time but will be able to achieve straight silky effect in 15 minutes from wet to dry. It is amazing that save me so much time. Yes, it is a little heavier than the regular straightener but it is well worthed to invest in it. I give ir A+ score
I have naturally curly, dense thick hair that likes to be frizzy. I really do like using the Airstrait, I typically don’t use any products besides a heat protectant and end up with perfectly smooth, straight hair. I usually start with about 70% dry hair, work in about 1.5 inch wide sections and start in wet mode and do slow passes til it feels dry then change to dry mode, and boost mode and do one pass and this adds sleekness and shine to the hair for a finished look.
I also recently wanted to test if it can straighten completely dry unruly hair and it worked wonderfully! (See photos) My 2nd day hair was a frizzy tangled mess. I used the air straight on dry mode and boost mode and only had to do ONE PASS per section and it straightened my hair and smoothed it out perfectly! Very happy with the results!
My only complaint is the amount of steam that this tool can create. I am still trying to figure out how not to create so much steam!
I've been getting my hair straightened using the japanese hair straightening technique for 20 years and while it wasn't singled out as one causing cancer issues, it does use some harsh chemicals that gave me second thoughts. I bought this to try instead. There was a little bit of a learning curve, but it's now my go to hair straightening gadget! I really like it!
