This is almost the worst vaccum I’ve ever purchased. Not worth the money. Prefaced with- I LOVE the shark brand. I love the way they clean- I do not think they have a good lifespan but they clean so well that it’s worth it. Absolutely not the case with this vacuum. It doesn’t clean well at all, and it’s already loosing a lot of life. Just a word to the wise for the mamas out there who depend on a good vacuum.

Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We’re really disappointed to hear that this vacuum hasn’t met your expectations, especially since you’ve been a loyal Shark customer and usually love the way our vacuums clean. We understand how frustrating it is when a product doesn’t perform well and seems to lose power quickly. We’d like to take a closer look at what’s going on and see how we can help improve the performance or explore other options. This is a powerful, light and easy to use vacuum. The stick has joints that can flex so you can vacuum under things that others can’t. It can temporarily get stuck on highly textured carpet but can be manipulated to work. I love this vacuum however, it is extremely powerful and can quickly plug the foam pre filter . The pre filter must be cleaned more often than you think, there are no signs like loss of suction. This can damage the motor. It does require more checking than a normal vacuum but easy cleans more effectively.
I've been using this vacuum for a couple weeks and it's great, except on rugs. It automatically kicks up to high speed once I move from wood floor to the rug, sucks the rug up into the roller and then shuts itself off. I was really hoping based on the description it would work for my rugs, that was my primary reason for purchasing it, but it doesn't work. It's great on hard wood and linoleum though!

Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We’re really upset to hear about the challenges you’re having with your vacuum, especially with it shutting off when transitioning onto rugs. We understand how disappointing this must be when your primary reason for purchasing the unit was to use it on rugs. While we’re glad to hear it’s working well on hard floors, we know that doesn’t make up for the issues you’re experiencing. Here is a link to our support page where you can troubleshoot and be guided to a resolution.
It works well on carpets and upholstered furniture. It does not work very well on hardwood floors. You have to go very slow on the hard surfaces - I end up going around with a broom to get corners which kind of defeats the purpose of having.a nifty cordless cleaner. The latch to the dust-bin collector pops open from time to time - so be careful you aren't just redistributing the dirt. The charge does not last long enough to do my entire small two-story home (I typically do one level at a time so it is manageable.) This really just is not worth the price.

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your experience with this vacuum. We’re really sorry to hear that while it performs well on carpets and upholstered furniture, it hasn’t lived up to expectations on hardwood floors. Having to move slowly, rely on a broom for corners, and deal with the dust‑bin latch popping open can be incredibly frustrating, especially when you purchased a cordless cleaner to make things easier, not harder. The short battery life on top of that only adds to the disappointment, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to explain what hasn’t worked for you. When an edge is detected, the headlights will illuminate on the side where the edge is sensed to help focus cleaning on targeted debris. Let me preface by stating we have a 3 dog and 2 cat household. Run time is maybe 20 minutes . Collection bin is too small requiring multiple emptyings. My biggest complaint though is my wrist aches after vacuuming . Just seems balance is off and have to over compensate with my wrist to guide it where I want it to go. This model was recommended to me by Shark who knew all of our "environmental " issues(#of dogs and cats) beforehand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your experience. It really sounds like this vacuum hasn’t been meeting the needs of a busy home with three dogs and two cats, and we’re truly sorry for the strain it’s putting on your wrist as well as the frustration of having to empty the bin so often. We appreciate you letting us know what hasn’t been working for you. To help improve performance, Detect Mode may be useful, as it activates Smart Detect Technology to adjust suction based on floor type, edges, and debris levels. Features like Edge Detect, Floor Detect, Dirt Detect, Direction Detect, and DuoClean Detect are designed to boost pickup, especially in homes with lots of pet hair. The included pet‑focused tools, such as the Pet Multi‑Tool and Motorized Pet Tool, may also help remove embedded hair and debris more efficiently. If you feel the unit isn’t working as intended, please don’t hesitate to contact us at https://support.sharkninja.com/contact-us so we can assist further.
The quietness of this vacuum is amazing and I t picks up great! I was concerned about the battery losing charge. We figured out it was best to let the sensors do the job. As long as the as getting is at the lowest or medium setting, the sensors goes back and forth. The highest setting will cause the battery to get hot and lose charge faster. That is a safety feature. We live it and it is better than Dyson or any Shark I have had in the past. You have to try it to believe it yourself!
