The charging does not last that long on the unit, run time Approximately 25/30 mins tops. The hair or debris get caught in the rollers and collects a firm line of hair which has to be cleaned out constantly causing loss of suction. Doesn’t do well on area rugs. I’ve cleaned out the canister as directed and hard to put back together .without breaking a little hook piece, be careful. I like that I don’t have have to empty it but I would trade everything for. More suction less small and longer running time. Does not cover 1500 sq ft.
Long hair does not get wrapped in it! Self-emptying version is a must have!

I wish I didn’t wait so long to splurge on a nice vacuum! My old vacuums were basically brooms just moving stuff around compared to this Shark PowerDetect! I did a lot of research and heard from professional cleaners online that they prefer Shark over Dyson. I am so happy I went with the Shark.
I have a very high pile expensive area rug, as well as very low pile rugs, carpet, wood, and tile flooring, and the vacuum is very versatile. I regularly do my plant repotting indoors and this picks up everything - including huge leca balls!
The best part is that hair does not get wrapped around the brush - I have long hair and this is the #1 issue I had with all previous vacuums.
The second best feature is the auto-clean function, although it can be a bit loud. There is a quiet button to use at night so that you can still dock the vacuum without it waking everyone up during its self-emptying process.
Also, there is an odor blocking filter in it that smells nice.
Must buy!

I loved this vacuum at first, but now I hate it. I change the filters- all 3 of them- regularly and it loses suction so easily. The other part is that it is TERRIBLE on hard floors. When vacuuming on hard floors, it just throws all the dirt and hair back at your feet. I have to use the crevice attachment vs the actual vacuum head on the hard floor. We just redid our floors so now everything is hard floor but the bedrooms.... So we went back to the corded vacuum. So sad, but this was not worth it for how long the quality lasted. The battery also doesn't last long. It used to run for 45 minutes- an hour and now it only goes for about 20 minutes. I've only had this thing for a year.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your PowerDetect Cordless is experiencing reduced suction, debris being pushed back on hard floors, and shorter battery runtime than when it was new.
We'd like the opportunity to troubleshoot these concerns with you, including the suction performance, hard floor cleaning, and battery life, to see if we can help improve your experience with the vacuum.

This is my second Shark vacuum my first one finally went to rest so I had to get another and it was a no-brainer. I want to get the same thing as what I had because it worked so well. No Dyson for this gal. I’m on a good budget and Shark is very affordable and it works just as good.
Pros: - picks up dust and hair pretty well - easy to hold and lightweight - cleans out by itself - cordless -the blue light in auto detect mode is pretty cool as it shows dust and such on tiles.
Con - battery runs out quickly especially in the high mode (about 5 mins if that) -auto detect sometimes kicks in the extra power on the carpet but not always. -takes 6+ hours to charge all the way back to 100%
If you have more carpet than tile/wood, then expect to plan out cleaning over several days. I have mix of tiles and carpet. My bedrooms are all carpet. By the time I finished one bedroom (in high mode), I had to charge the battery again. The eco mode is a joke.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the best vacuum I’ve ever owned, my main goal is to have a vacuum that can pick up dog hair (we have two Rottweilers) and this does the job and it does it well. I love the fact that I don’t need to dump it manually every single time, I vacuum multiple times a day and I just need to dock it and it takes care of that for me.
I recieved this Shark Power Detect. I am very pleased with it performance. The build quality seems good, although some plsatic parts feel like that may break (Probally wont break, but feels flimsy). The suction power is incredible for this vacuum cleaner. I do have a dog, and he sheds quite a bit. The hair pickup is really good and does not get clogged whatsoever. Now I do have a large house but, the vacuum is constanly ramping up and down. With that the battery seems to drain very quickly and was unable to finish my entire house without it dying. (I wish there was a medium mode too). Dirt removal is also a very strong point of this vacuum cleaner. It picks up everything on the first pass!
