[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the new Fold 8 Ultra because of its speed, enhanced battery, amazing cameras and thecAI integration.
Work, play, personal finance, entertainment, etc - it does it all.
The screens are amazing and the integration with Droid is amazing.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Fold 8 Ultra originally for the hybrid silicon carbide battery. I came from a Fold 5 and it was fine, but that battery was only lasting 4-6 hours. This new Folds endurance is pretty remarkable. Now, grain of salt since it's also a new battery, but under heavy media consumption over a 10 hour period I barely dipped below 80 percent. Amazing.
The form factor is a bit mixed for me. Being so thin is also amazing, however I do miss the bit narrower cover display of the Fold 5. It felt more manageable in one hand, I know this is an outlier in the community since everyone wants to go bigger. Also that camera module... how is it so big and not using the current flag ship cameras? Why keep this design? If the stack was horizontal or centered to the single back panel they'd get rid of that ridiculous rocking of using the device from a desk.
The crease is also very good, comparable or better than the oppo find N6.
Opening one handed is nearly impossible. I know that was mentioned in the sales material, when compared to my Fold 5, its no contenst the Fold 8 just is too thin.
This is an early impression, so time will tell if it can survive like the Fold 5 did, but so far it's a massive upgrade, even if I did give up my S pen.
Last gripe I have is the cases. With a phone this thin and delicate, how are they not making cases to cover the entire device? Yes, a front cover would add thickness, but it also stops you from destroying the front screen.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra mainly because battery life is one of the most important features in a phone for me. I use my phone constantly throughout the day for work, emails, calls, messaging, documents, multitasking, and entertainment, so I need something that can keep up without making me think about a charger every few hours. That was a huge factor in my decision.
With a foldable phone, I was especially concerned that the larger screen and all the extra multitasking features would drain the battery quickly, but the Fold 8 Ultra gives me the confidence to actually use those features the way they are meant to be used. I can have multiple apps open, work from the larger display, watch videos, take calls, and still get through a busy day without constantly checking my battery percentage.
For me, battery life is not just a nice feature, it directly affects how useful and reliable the phone is. I wanted a premium foldable that could replace both a phone and, in many situations, a small tablet without sacrificing endurance. That is ultimately why I chose the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The design and screen are great, but the battery life is what made it the right choice for me.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the z fold 8 ultra for the increase in battery life and charging speed. Although it's very similar to my previous fold7, I was able to do this due to generous trade in values. Also loving the brighter display. Having a hard time getting that 45w charge speed though I need to look into what that is. I only have high end Anker batteries and chargers so I'm not sure why it's not working.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra because I like the slim design. It's easy to hold and lightweight so it doesn't stress out my hand. When using a foldable device, comfort and ergonomics are everything. Samsung nailed the design—it feels great in one hand when folded, and unfolding it reveals a beautiful, immersive display. It's useful for so many things, taking notes, reading, entertainment and organization are just a few of the things I use it for! Running multiple apps side-by-side makes managing schedules, reading e-books, and watching media effortless. The speed of the apps and responses to my touch are incredible. Navigating menus, launching heavy apps, and switching tasks happens instantly with zero lag. Everything feels fluid and responsive. The camera is amazing and well worth it. Photos come out crisp and full of detail in any light, and the versatility of the camera setup makes capturing great shots effortless. Samsung knows how to make a phone and continues to impress me! The build quality, display, and speed make it a winner.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new Fold 8 Ultra. I chose this form factor instead of the standard because of multitasking. I purchased this phone to replace my Fold 5. I have a hybrid job that sometimes requires me to do administrative task on the fly. It feels like I have a dual monitor in my pocket. It's also great for recreation. Reading books, social media, YouTube, and my gaming experience has been awesome. Coming from an older Fold, I couldn't believe how light weight this phone is. You can't really tell that this is a foldable phone in your pocket. I really like how you can make this phone your own with Samsung Good Lock app. Overall, the experience has been great! I would recommend this phone to anyone looking to do more with their phone besides the basics.
I'm sure this is of the highest quality like all other Samsung products and with the generous discount, it will be the best choice. It's a shame I can't take advantage of this opportunity, Thanks Samsung.
