The S25 Ultra Didn’t Feel Small… Until I Unfolded

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I switched to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra from my S25 Ultra, and I’ll admit, for the first couple of days I kept wondering if I had made the right decision. The S25 Ultra was familiar, comfortable and honestly a great phone. The Fold just felt… different.
The biggest difference for me is not some fancy feature I’ll use once and forget about. It’s simply having all that extra screen whenever I need it. Reading emails, looking at photos, browsing the web or having two things open at the same time feels completely different. Multitasking is probably my favorite part. I can check something in one app while keeping another open instead of constantly jumping back and forth.
What surprised me even more is how thin the phone feels. I expected a foldable to feel like carrying a brick in my pocket. It doesn’t. Yes, it takes a little time to adjust when coming from an S25 Ultra, but after using it for a while, a regular phone screen actually starts feeling small.
I’m also enjoying the camera much more than I expected. I find myself taking more photos now, partly because they look so good on that huge display. Taking a picture and immediately opening it on the larger screen to see all the details is one of those little things you don't appreciate until you actually use a Fold.
The Z Fold 8 Ultra feels like my phone, tablet and mini computer somehow ended up in the same pocket.
And for me, that’s what makes this upgrade actually feel like an upgrade.

Amazing upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the Fold 5 since launch and i've been looking to upgrade. I'm glad I chose the Fold Ultra 8 because its a massive upgrader to everything I already loved about the fold 5. The screen is beautiful and having a bigger outer screen makes a big difference. Already I see improvements in battery life and I love how pictures look. Streaming shows on the devices open screen is perfect. This phone is such a veristle device that I can use for all my productivity apps and basically running everything in my life off of.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Back when the Fold 3 came out, I chose to "sign on" to the Samsung upgrade wagon and but my phones directly from them. I do not regret it.
The Fold phones are excellent. They are not the slimmest or most feature-packed available (you can get more from other eastern competitors), but they are well-thought-out, software is good to excellent, and durability has gone from acceptable to excellent as it has improved year over year. I did Fold 3>4>5>6>skip>8. I bet from now on, I'll be able to go two or three years without upgrading, and I will be perfectly happy. These phones really have no peer.

Amazing for multitasking and streaming

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the fold heavily. I regularly run 3-4 apps at the same time. The big screen is amazing for that. Dex is awesome on my second screen. I love that the outer screen is similar to a regular phone now. My only complaint is thermals. It seems like this one is throttling when I'm gaming more heavily. Maybe software will fix that.

Best phone I've ever had

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally had the Galaxy s26 Ultra but I chose to go with the new Z fold 8 Ultra because they finally updated the camera to a 200 megapixel and honestly this phone is amazing. I could not possibly be happier. It's so big, it makes it so much easier to read my manga and my books on Kindle and it just looks beautiful. I can honestly say this is the best phone I've ever owned. I can't imagine I'll have anything but the full fold Ultra from now. 10 out of 5 Stars.

Its worth it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was always interested in the concept of a foldable phone. I just haven't seen the specs to justify the purchase and skeptical on the value. Well....they finally got it right and its a good combo device...phone + tablet. I currently have a S25 Ultra, and the new Z-Fold 8 is essentially a S25 Ultra that magically converts to a small tablet. The major difference is the fold is slightly narrower, but everything that matters is the same or better. If your on the fence, buy it. You won't regret it.
