A machine that holds your hand through your caffeine addiction.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, we are heavy caffeine addicts in our household and love coffee. I really wanted to give this a thorough testing before writing a review to highlight the goods, the bass and the mehs. I want to start by saying that since we’ve gotten our DeLonghi Magnifica Duo Espresso machine we’ve used just about every single day and have stopped buying coffee outside all together. Single put, it makes a great espresso cup. It has so many different options to pick from that leaving the house just feels redundant when our DeLonghi can make it as tasty for a fraction of the cost.
Setting up the DeLonghi was fairly easy by following the instructions. A little tedious but it ensures you have proper filtered water for a nice brew and it only took about 15 minutes to complete. The machine takes either whole bean or you can opt to do pre ground espresso. The option to do either cold or hot milks is also very pleasant as it prevents excess wear on the containers.
Making actuals drinks does take some getting used to and fidgeting with the setting depending on the grind settings of your using whole beans. I’d say the adjustment period is about a week to discover what you love and the strength of your brew. The machine recommends adjusting the grind and then doing 3 brews before adjusting again to make sure. We’ve finally narrowed it down to an espresso pull that we enjoy that’s perfect. Not too bitter and balanced so don’t feel discouraged if it’s not perfect right away! Coffee is an act of balance and love. The premade drink options make it really easy, load your milk, pop the carafe in and select what you want. The DeLonghi guides you step by step on how to adjust the foam level on the milk and how much ice to put. It really does make it simple and easy to use.
The only downside I’ve found so far to the DeLonghi, and it’s not really a downside I guess. More of a personal struggle is that the clean up for the carafe is pretty tedious! You do have to disassemble the entire thing to ensure it’s clean and it’s 3-4 pieces and rinse them thoroughly everytime it’s used out of fear of milk spoiling in there. It makes it a bit bothersome to use but still more cost effective and easy than going out to the store and buying a coffee. I think I would have like to see a steamer attachment where we could hand steam our milk in a steel container. Personally I feel like it would have been more time effective and cleaner.
My final thoughts on the Magnica duo are that it’s absolutely a dream. If you’re a coffee lover and want a simple machine that can brew you everything and anything it’s perfect. It’s easy to use, easy to clean. It tells you when it needs maintenance, when it needs water. When to empty the grounds, when to clean the carafe. It literally holds your hand and walks you through your caffeine addiction!

The De’Longhi Magnifica Duo has been the perfect addition to my morning routine. It comes with a water filter, attachments for both cold and hot milk foam (works with plant based milks too!) and lets you use either whole or ground beans. Setup was quick and the touchscreen controls are super easy to use. One of my favorite features is the automatic cleaning cycle after it’s been idle, and the used coffee grounds are condensed into perfect dried pucks that are wonderful for compost. The ability to make both hot and cold drinks is a huge plus. My morning coffee has never been so fancy and fun!

Best cup of coffee and easy to setup/use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our house has been a pure drip or single serve coffee pod kind of house. I’ve never had a machine that is as fancy as the De’Longhi Magnifica Duo. I honestly can’t wait to expand my knowledge of lattes, frappes, and different beans. It’s really easy to set up via the instructions on the machine. My husband has said several times that it is the best tasting coffee he’s ever drank. For me there was a little learning curve in grind settings but some quick research led me to finding the perfect one. I’m going to invest in some syrups to try out making some flavored lattes.

The one touch drink options make this machine so easy to use. The built in grinder keeps every cup tasting fresh! The automatic milk frothing is one of my favorite things. It make velvety smooth foam every time. The clean up and maintence of the machine is also very simple! Highly recommend this!

Great hot/cold coffee machine

I love that you can use whole coffee beans or ground coffee and have the choice between hot or cold drinks. The amount of drink types built in is also awesome. If you want plain coffee or espresso instead of a latte, you can do that too. I really recommend this machine for anyone who likes cold and hot coffee drinks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] True coffee lovers appreciate the quality of the DeLonghi line of products. It truly is the closest you can get to barista quality. I’ve had an older model in the past, but this new Magnifica Duo is truly the wave of the future. The digital operating system is so advanced, and easy to operate. This unit packs so much punch in such a small size. It’s perfect for under kitchen cabinets. This machine is so smart, it adjusts operation to the hardness of your water. (Test strip included) There is a hot and cold foam reservoir to make the perfect drink. Easy to operate, and cleaning is a breeze! Cheers!

When purchasing this machine I was a little nervous because it had just come out and there were literally 0 reviews on it. We’ve had it for about a month now and we love it!! I prefer iced drinks and my husband hot, so this machine is the best of both worlds for us. The only complaint I have is that it’s a little loud. Other than that, so far so good! Great purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Versatile and intuitive

You can make hot and cold coffee drinks and it automatically incorporates milk into them without any extra steps. The coffee comes out hot and delicious. The set up took a little bit since I wasn’t familiar with all of the parts of the machine and had to read the manual, but using it on the daily basis is super easy and intuitive. The display tells you what you need to do. Make sure you read all of the instructions so that you don’t get any surprises like I did. Like the fact that the machine purges some hot water when it is first turned on to warm up the circuits and when turned off to do a quick cleaning cycle.
