Mess and stress free consistently tasty coffee!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow. I've new knew how easy it could be to consistently make great tasting espresso drinks until I tried the DeLonghi Magnifica Duo. This machine truly does it all.
The positives: It is really nice to have a built in grinder, and it's easy to adjust the grind depending on the freshness of the beans. It holds a surprisingly large amount of beans given your first impression of the grinder (it's quite shallow), and lasts longer than expected before needing a refill The machine has easy buttons on it to choose what drink you want, and the profiles are a nice touch. I found this to make consistently good shots of espresso, with nice clean pucks of grounds. The milk frothing containers are super easy to take apart and clean, and the froth generated in the drinks is impressive. I didn't know what an iced latte would do besides just dumping cold milk, but it actually froths it in a very pleasing way. The water container is easy to access and fill, and holds quite a lot of water as well. It's lovely to have an espresso machine where I can quickly (and cleanly!) make fresh ground shots in a couple of minutes, vs the whole production of our prior machine that required manual grinding, dosing, tamping, and then disposing of the grounds. It makes it simple to make my morning Americano on the way out the door rather than going to a local coffee shop, and using fresh roasted beans from the coffee shops I enjoy.
The considerations (these aren't negatives, but ARE things to think about): This machine cleans the spout with hot water on startup and AND shutdown. I didn't realize the shutdown part until I was trying to figure out why our drip tray was always full - that's why. It's important to be aware of this so you don't accidentally get water pumped into your cup. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of. Also, the sizes of the drinks for all the different beverage options are a bit confusing. The manual states what the sizes equate to, but on the machine itself it just offers Small, Medium, Large, or XL. However - what that translates to varies by drink. So on some drinks my 12oz coffee mug can fit a large. Some it's a medium. I wish the drink sizes were done in ounces instead of sizes, for clarity sake. Also - none of my travel cups will fit under the spout. I have a (large coffee chain) 20 ounce reusable cup that I like to use, and it does not fit. That said, I just make my espresso shots and combine separately - but for a milk based drink I have to make it in a mug then transfer. My wife's travel mug is a bit shorter and wider, so it fits. Just something to be aware of. If you're used to single serving machines an grinding separately, having the built in grinder means you are committed longer to a specific bean. So if you and someone else in the house like different coffees, it's much harder to jump back and forth.
Additional - this machine is built very well. It is a bit noisy, but nothing unexpected vs other coffee machines. The quality is very solid, and it feels like a premium experience. The drink photos are very clear, and the menus are quite intuitive. I wish the main menu "espresso" drink defaulted to a double espresso (who drinks a single!), but it's very easy to click "more hot drinks" and hit double espresso. It makes consistent delicious coffee, and I've found myself enjoying the wide variety of drinks far more than I anticipated. I've had coffee shop flat whites before and didn't understand the hype. I get it now.

Barista at home!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little intimidated to get this machine, however the prompts on the screen take the guess work out of everything. I am able to grind my own coffee beans, make almost any type of iced or hot coffee, and it takes less than 2 minutes from start to finish! I can create 3 different profiles to save preferences. The machine even tells me when to add water, clean the drip tray or add more coffee beans. Everything came in a box together, and i can see myself saving alot of money making coffee at home

Sophisticated and functional machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new Delonghi duo fully automatic espresso machine. This coffee machine is compact, and my favorite feature is the duo function which allows me to make cold and hot drinks as well, that's a game changer! It also has an automatic milk frother which functions well to give my drinks a nice finish. It took a little bit of a learning curve to know how to use most of the functions and to customize my drink perfectly, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a simple as pressing a button.As an avid lover of buying coffee beans, this machine processes the bean up to the delicious and fresh cup of coffee in one touch. The settings are so customizable, and you can always adjust to how hot you want your coffee and the strength. One last and also very important factor about this machine is the cleaning. It's not stressful to clean - it has an automatic rinse and clean system which takes away a lot of work using any appliance. I am really enjoying this machine and always look forward to breakfast and making drinks at random during the day.

Great flavors and easy customization

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new auto espresso machine has made my mornings much smoother, and more flavorful. This high quality DeLonghi machine takes beans for grinding, or grounds by scooping. I love the option depending on the time I use the machine. It’s setup and settings were easy follow and understand, and my wife (who doesn’t like learning new machines) even found it easy to use. It has both a hot and cold milk froth option, and they are a breeze to clean. The only “con” for this machine is that the bean grinder is louder than I would prefer for a 6am cup of coffee.

It’s like your own coffee shop right at home

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The De’Longhi Magnifica duo had completely changed my morning coffee routine. The one touch drink selection makes everything from espresso and lattes to iced coffees. Incredibly easy, and the built in grinder produces fresh coffee every time.
The lattecrema systems creates rich creamy foam, and having the options for both hot and cold foam is a game changer. The cleanup is pretty simple thanks to the automatic rinsing cycles and removable carafes.
The ability to customize drink strength, size, and temperature makes it feel like having a coffee shop at home.
But this can also be a con with the machine. With some many options from bean grind size, to strength and cup size, it does take some time to fine tune down to what you prefer for a perfect cup of coffee.

Making those expensive coffee shop drinks at home just for so much easier with my DeLonghi

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very neat and simple machine with step by step instructions on screen for everything the machine does. I've been using it for about and it's taking me a little time to fine tune the details on the machine for the certain taste I was looking for in my drinks but now that I've found it they are amazing. From turning the machine on to drink in my hand is less than 3 minutes which is super fast! There are many buttons on the interface for popular drink choices and then two separate hot and cold drink buttons with more drink options to view on the screen. The frother is an awesome feature that helps enhance the drinks and it is awesome that there is a separate cold and hot one and the machine knows which one is hooked up at that very moment. The machine has a built in self cleaning mode where it rinses after each use which and cleaning the puck disposal tray is so simple it just slides out, dump and rinse and right back in. I'm in love with this machine so far!

The Ferrari of coffee machines

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is amazing. And I’ve had some pretty good ones in the past. I have a moccamaster for drip coffee and a Ninja deluxe machine as well. But the intuitiveness of this DeLonghi, the ease, the flavor of the coffee when extracted is top notch. I look forward to every morning to be able to use this machine. I love the touch screen, I love how many drink options there are to choose from and especially love the rich consistency by of the foam in some of the fancier drinks. I could not recommend this machine more if you are a coffee enthusiast.

Everything I have ever wanted in an espresso machine!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the most amazing espresso machine! I cannot express enough how much we love it. I absolutely love my coffee, but do not have the time to make drinks as a mom. I love the automatic feature of the machine while still being able to enjoy the authenticity of an espresso machine. The machine is not too large and fits comfortably on our countertop. The design of the machine is beautiful. It is so easy to use that anyone can really make a drink after a few instructions. The parts are removable and easy to wash and dishwasher safe. The machine will walk you through the steps and tell you what it will do next. I have tried the different hot and cold drinks and they all are delicious. The cappuccino and iced latte are my favorite. The frother is also easy to setup, use and clean. It really has it all. We are looking forward to be able to continue experimenting and making different coffees. I cannot recommend this machine enough to anyone looking for an automatic espresso machine. I look forward to my coffee every morning and even have one throughout the day.
