Functionally disastrous, aesthetically pleasing

Aesthetics aside, this machine is awful. It brews horizontally so it's extremely susceptible to residue remaining in the machine and baking in unless you're diligent about flushing it with water after each brew. Its discharge mechanism is also terrible -- after each brew, a lot of coffee residue and water is sent into a plastic container that somehow doesn't actually contain these substances. Every time I pull it out, theres water and coffee on my countertop. What a design disaster, and what a huge step back for the Nespresso brand. Cannot believe, after years of refining designs, this is where we're at. Completely regret this purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review, David. It is normal to have some residual water collect in the capsule basket. We recommend emptying the capsule basket regularly to prevent overflow. Great new product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago. My old machine had problems due to non use so we opted for a new one. I love the design, so cute. It works great and I love the features, such as changing the temp and quantity. The only downside is that the trash basket can get a little wet with coffee. Other than that we love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Nespresso Vertuo Up as a complimentary sample to test and review. I was not impressed with this machine, to be honest. It is louder than any coffee machine I have ever used it also makes a horrible mess during/after each use. Not for me.

We expect your Nespresso experience to be seamless and gratifying, Oscar. We can confirm loud noises when brewing is normal with all Vertuo machines, however the pump in your new Vertuo Up should produce less noise over time. It is normal to have some residual water collect in the capsule basket, however we recommend emptying the capsule basket regularly to prevent overflow. Better than what you’d go out for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve had our Vertuo Up for about 3 weeks and couldn’t be happier. The area we live in has multiple choices, the usual chains and smaller places but they need to be open when you’d like a good coffee or espresso. Now all we need to do is go to the kitchen, pick the beverage we want and it’s ready in a couple of minutes and the quality is as good or better than the places we used to go. We would very highly recommend Nespresso machines and coffees.

Same great coffee, just a little fancier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently upgraded to the Vertuo up and I have to say… I’m impressed.
My Vertuo Next served me well, but the Vertuo is making mornings feel a little extra fancy. Same great coffee, just feels like a bit of an upgrade in the daily caffeine routine. Easier to close, slightly quieter and easy to close.
If you need me, I’ll just be over here pretending I’m a barista in my own kitchen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I couldn’t be happier with my Nespresso Vertuo Up in Ocean Blue. The color is absolutely gorgeous and the machine itself is sleek and compact, with a really stylish design that feels both modern and high-end without taking up much space.
It’s also incredibly easy to use and makes consistently great coffee. Honestly, it has become the best part of my morning routine. Five stars all the way!
