Great coffee, frustrating design

I really love how quickly the Nespresso Vertuo Up heats up and starts brewing — being ready to brew in about 3 seconds is a huge selling point for me. The Over Ice button was also one of the features that convinced me to purchase this machine, and I really enjoy having that option.
The biggest disappointment is the height of the machine. The design doesn’t allow most of my travel mugs to fit underneath the coffee outlet. Normally, I would simply add a small platform or riser, but because of the way the capsule container is designed and positioned, there isn’t really a practical way to do that.
Nespresso lists the capsule container capacity as 18 Espresso capsules or 13 Mug capsules, but that has not been my experience. The container seems to fill up much faster than those numbers would suggest.
And that’s what makes this machine so frustrating: I absolutely love the way it brews coffee, but I really dislike the design from a functionality standpoint. The coffee quality and quick heat-up are fantastic, but the limited cup clearance and capsule-container design make everyday use more inconvenient than it should be.
Overall, I think there is a lot to love about how the Vertuo Up makes coffee, but I wish Nespresso had put more thought into the practical, everyday usability of the machine.

This machine has blown my mind. The coffee is very bold and smooth without bitter taste. I also love the faithful layer of crema on top with every single brew! I can’t ever go back!

Everyone in my house is loving it. We are making all the coffees! Iced lattes, hot lattes, flavored coffee, shots of espresso and just plain cups of coffee.
We stopped at a chain coffee shop the other day in a rush, no comparison. I will make my coffee at home from now on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE this machine. I came from a Keurig which I still have, it's good, but the variety of the Nespresso is just amazing. Since I got this machine, I quit starbucks and coffee shops. Go figure! And the pearl color is so beautiful and elegant, it adds up to my kitchen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We previously had a vertuo de longhi that was MUCH better quality. The overall function was better, the creme on the coffee was better and the machine in general was much better. The pod storage was larger and more durable ( the latest version has 4 different plastic pieces that fall apart when you remove it to empty) and the mechanism that punctures the pod seems to be messier. The previous one left no water or coffee drainage, but this new one is quite a mess when removing the pods.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had machine ~2 months. Works great makes wonderful coffee.
A little messy to empty capsule tray and clean up. I empty and clean machine every morning.
