I purchased this dive computer a few weeks ago. It has a ton of features that I have not even touched yet. It is a great size for everyday wear and offers a lot of features that a typical watch or a typical dive computer would not offer. it has a fantastic appearance, and I cannot wait to get it into the water.
I found the Garmin platform to be less intuitive than my older Apple Watch, but just took a little getting used to. I love the feature that you can track where you've been on the GPS. I also am a huge fan of the touchscreen - it's definitely a necessary upgrade to the watch (imo) as I had an older version of the Forerunner 935 and would always try to make it a touchscreen lol. I love the color combo too - kinda a brassy color with a an off white band is not too flash but much better than just a black watch. Notifications for messages are kind of a pain - you have to allow messages to come across on your phone without any muting for it to show up on your watch. This isn't a this watch specific thing, I think it's a Garmin thing.
Purchased 2 weeks ago, still looking to play with all of the features. Getting to know which button to click to get to certain features is still a work in progress.
I initially bought the Garmin Mk3i 43mm as a backup to my ginormous Mares Genius dive computer. The more I wore my Garmin, the more I liked all its everyday functionality. I ordered the 43mm version because I have smaller wrists; however, I just sent it back and got the 51mm version which doesn’t look too big and I can read the data under water much easier. I’ve received many favorable comments from people who don’t even know it’s a dive watch. Extremely happy with my Garmin!
Exactly what I expected from Garmin, another excellent watch. I love the touch screen and the 43mm size comparted to the 52mm is very nice. The 52mm is a great watch but you bang it on everything due to the size. I only wish the battery life on this watch was a little better.
I purchased my Mk3i after my dive vacation last November to Raja Ampat. I already had the first MK1, but was excited to get the air integration with the new Mk3i, Used it on my last vacation in April in Maldives. Great computer. easy to read and adjust settings. less hoses.
I ordered the galexy ultra watch when it came out and after waiting for ever for Android to make a ultra watch with a watch that was diver friendly i was super disappointed! So i gave that one to my mom and took a chance on the mk3i after watching a few reviews. There is not alot of information about this watch on features that are not dive related. But let me reassure you it does everything the other smart watches do. The notifications music controller... the only 2 things i have found that it lacks is the ability to call due to no microphone and it will not tell me my phones battery level. The other gripe i had is how hard it was to find bands for this. I wanted a nicer titanium band and only really found one..... overall inam happy with it and love being able to go well over a week on a single chage.
Can't beat Garmin technology, so many cool features like subwave messaging, being able to use a transmitter to see your tank pressures, as well as tracking so many metrics during your diving.
also makes for a great fitness watch, track your hiking, cardio, golf, tennis, you name it, you can track it!
