[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit is exactly that, an absolute UNIT!! It cools exceptionally well, and quick, and it isn’t too noisy, it’s not silent but it also won’t interrupt your show when it kicks on. I love it, and I hope you will too!

Good value for garage window AC unit
on April 12, 2025
Posted by: gcklema
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lost a tree during Hurricane Milton, and now the garage has become an absolute oven. Needed an inexpensive but reliable window unit to keep things in a normal temperature range, and this unit fit the bill nicely. Power efficiency wasn't a big criterion for me, more about cooling effectiveness first, and dehumidification second. All else were afterthoughts (i.e. noise, looks, WiFi, etc. all didn't matter to me). I like that it has a remote that I can keep near the house entry door to adjust the unit without walking over to it. I knocked off one star for two reasons: (1) If you turn the unit off, it resumes operation at 72 degrees and in Eco mode. The unit ought to resume with the last settings, not a default. That's an especially irritating design flaw because I understand that if there is a unexpected power loss, then the unit resumes operation at the last settings, once power is restored. Why should it be any different for intentional on-off vs. sudden power loss? (2) The unit doesn't drain condensate, and instead forms a significant pool of water which the condenser fan then hits (about 1" deep). I understand that's an intentional design to increase efficiency due to evaporative cooling when the water gets flung onto the hot condenser coils. While evaporative cooling makes sense for dry areas (e.g. Phoenix), it doesn't work well in humid climates (e.g. Florida). The marginal efficiency gains from evaporative cooling does not outweigh a pan full of water for breeding mosquitos and accelerating corrosion. So I had to carefully drill a hole to ensure water drains immediately without accumulation. Perhaps units should include an optional plug that could be removed for consumers who won't see any real benefit from evaporative cooling?

Keeps The Room Chill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Frigidaire FHWW144TF1 14,000 BTU window air conditioner for some time now, and I’m really pleased with how it performs. Installation wasn’t too bad, though due to the size and weight, having an extra set of hands definitely helped. Once it was in place, the difference was immediate—it cooled my open living space quickly and efficiently.
One of my favorite features is the Wi-Fi connectivity. I can control the unit from my phone using the app, which means I can cool the room before I even get home. It also connects easily with Alexa, which is super convenient when I’m too comfortable to get up. For such a powerful unit, it runs surprisingly quiet. On the lower settings, I barely notice it’s on while watching TV or having conversations.
The remote control is easy to use, and I really appreciate the sleep mode. It keeps the temperature comfortable through the night without making the room too cold. The washable filter is another plus—it’s easy to take out and clean, and the unit reminds me when it’s time.
The only downside I’ve noticed is the bulkiness. The unit is large, so make sure your window and wall can support it. The side panels feel a bit flimsy, but once installed properly, they seem to hold up fine.
Overall, I would recommend the Frigidaire FHWW144TF1 to anyone needing to cool a large room or open space. It’s strong, reliable, and the smart features make it even better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time installing and using a Frigidaire window AC unit. The box included everything you needed for the installation. Installation was a breeze, but it may require two people to set the unit in the window. The unit includes a basic button interface and a remote control. You can also connect the unit to the Frigidaire app or a smart speaker. The unit has a removable dust filter, which is easy to access on the front panel. The unit has 5 settings: eco (energy saving mode), cool, Fan only, dry, and auto. When you first turn on the unit, it defaults to Auto and 72 F. You can adjust the temperature from as low as 60 F to 80 F. The unit also has a child lock option. There are adjustable vent louvers so you can direct the airflow. This unit can cool up to 700 square feet. The display lights up, showing the temperature as well as lights indicating what mode is set. The lights dim after a few moments of use. The unit isn't excessively loud and cools quickly. The remote is basic but works well. I liked that the box included a decent amount of weather stripping as well as an instruction and installation guide. This unit will come in handy this summer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Frigidaire window unit MODEL # FHWW144TF1 is fairly heavy so it will take 1-2 people for installation. We installed the unit within 30 minutes. Just unbox, place unit in window from the outside, and set up the provided side panels. The unit can be controlled by the WiFi app or the easy to use remote. It is easy to connect to Alexa or Google home, just follow the steps on the app. You can change it from Eco, Cool, or Fan Only and it also has a sleep timer. Another great feature is the multi-direction AirFlow, so I can be comfortable any place in the room. The filter is easy to get to when it’s time to lean. To clean filter turn off air conditioner ,open the front of the unit, take out filter, clean under running water, dry, and place it back in the unit. It runs quiet, so it doesn’t disturb your sleep time and the display lights turns off quickly so no lights are on either. It cools up to 700 square feet and keeps my bedroom nice and cool. I highly recommend this air conditioner, I feel it is a high quality unit that is made to last.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm absolutely thrilled with my Frigidaire 14,000 BTU Window Room Air Conditioner with Wi-Fi! This unit has been a lifesaver during the hot summer months. It's incredibly easy to install and use, and the Wi-Fi connectivity is a game-changer. I can control the temperature and fan settings from anywhere in my home using the app, which is so convenient.
The cooling power is impressive, and the unit is surprisingly quiet and efficient. I've noticed a significant decrease in my energy bills since installing it. The design is also sleek and modern, fitting perfectly in my window without obstructing the view.
What really sets this air conditioner apart is the smart features. I can schedule temperature changes, receive alerts, and even control it with voice commands using my smart speaker. It's amazing to come home to a cool and comfortable space on a hot day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Frigidaire window AC unit is much quieter than I expected. The unit can cool up to 700 square feet. It can be set to Celsius or Fahrenheit. The box includes everything you need to install it. The unit includes a simple remote control, but you can also connect it to the Frigidaire app or even smart speakers. The unit installation may require two people. The overall setup is a breeze. The box includes a fair amount of weather stripping, which I liked. Once you plug the unit in, it defaults to 72°F on the eco setting. It has eco (energy saving), cool, fan-only, and dry. There are control settings on the front panel as well as an LED temperature number and indicator light for the settings. There are two levers to direct the air flow. The air temperature can be set as low as 60°F or up to 80°F. The unit cools quickly (results may vary). You can also add an allergen filter aside from the standard dust filter on the front panel. Overall, I am very happy with the product so far.

Powerful Cooling but louder than expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Frigidaire FHWW144TF1 for a few weeks now, and it’s proven to be a great addition to my home. It cools my large living room and connected kitchen area quickly and maintains the set temperature well, even during hotter days. One of my favorite things about this unit is the Wi-Fi capability. Using the app to control the AC from my phone makes things so much easier, especially when I want to come home to a cool space. It also connects to Alexa, which is super convenient.
The remote is simple and intuitive, and the different modes like sleep and energy saver actually make a difference. I also appreciate the filter reminder feature—it’s helped me keep the unit running efficiently with minimal effort. If there’s one drawback, it’s the noise level. It’s louder than I expected, especially when the compressor cycles on. It’s not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind if you’re planning to use it in a bedroom or a quiet space.
Despite being on the louder side, the Frigidaire FHWW144TF1 is a strong, reliable air conditioner with excellent cooling performance and modern smart features. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to cool a large room or open area efficiently.
