Super dope - I would love if it came with a wrist strap. I plan on using it as a guest camera to pass around for “bonus footage” when I shoot weddings. I’m a little nervous about its ability to withstand minor drops, but overall it’s a great product!

The fun of 8mm without the cost of development!

Was looking for a Super8 camera for a taste of nostalgia but was haunted by the cost of film and development. Enter CampSnap CS8!
Right out of the box, you're ready to record anything from weekend exploration to early Christmas mornings! The range of aspect ratios and included filters will give everyone a vast array of shooting options. The quality of recording is just what you expect of a camcorder. It's not 1080p but you're not buying it for high quality, you're after that raw footage look! The viewfinder shows you what you are recording to make sure you're capturing everything (if you see it in the finder, you're capturing it!) It has a loop on the bottom of the base for you to attach a wrist loop or shoulder strap if desired. 8x zoom to get a closer shot on subjects far away.
While not dealbreakers some downsides I have noticed:
There are some creaking sounds with audio. It's a plastic camera so you'll pick up some initial sounds when squeezing the trigger but they don't make 8mm film with audio any longer so happy to have the ability to capture any audio.
A delay on powering on. If you're out in the field and looking to capture something quickly, it is best to just keep the CS8 on to ensure you get your perfect video!
No Super8 filter. While there is a grainy filter built into the CS8, something about having the notch on the side of the film just seems right. You can always import your recordings into an editing suite or app to get that final product that you want.
No direct import to phone. While it may be operator error, you will need a computer to view your work.
All in all, I recommend snagging a CS8 (if you can!) This is a great nod to the Super8 days of the past and allows CampSnap fans to step back in time and to capture and preserve exciting moments in life!
