Perfect Retro Form Factor, Great Feature Set

I received the CS-8 in time to take it to the state fair. I had a blast using it. I tried the two vintage modes and the analogue mode. The experience was just what I was hoping for. The footage is very good but not "too perfected. The CS-8 handles exposure differences admirably in the style of a legacy format. I have a Sony A7SII, A7III and NEX VG 900 if I need idealized results. This isn't as fun as pulling the trigger and calculating in your mind what the results might yield. I have a Canon 814XL-S, 310XL, Nikon R10, Minolta Autopak D10, Ricoh 800Z and Nizo 801. This experience is in between a new camcorder and old Super 8 camera. Just what I wanted. It would be fun at a wedding or outside gathering with nice daylight. I am very happy with the CS-8 to say the least.

Being a veteran Super 8

Being a veteran Super 8 shooter from the 1970s, this camera is such a blast from the past. I’ve not given it a real workout yet, but I’ve found it easy and intuitive to use and downloading the files into my Mac a breeze. And the file quality is impressive! My only wish is that it retained as file number memory (as some digital cameras have) so that even if you delete the files, it continues the numbering scheme rather than starting over. But that’s just my druthers and I already have a work-around. I am looking forward to letting my 11 year old some start using it!

A cheaper fun alternative to Super 8 film

Just received my camera and instantly loved the classic vintage look. Markings on dials could be a little larger/clearer and it feels a little light compared to genuine Super 8 cameras but it's very user friendly and fun to use. A cheaper alternative to shooting on film with decent results.

Camera is great- I just wish the handle and trigger got the same attention as the rest of the camera. Feels out of place and cheaper than the rest of the camera. Other than that - we used it on our camping trip and an aquarium visit. Was nice to not look at everything and stay in the now. Plus the head turns from others was nice too.

I love it. Super cute. The video outputs are great. The only thing I wish it had was the actual 8mm horizontal look with the film notch! That would make it perfect.

At first glance the packaging is very impressive. Ergonomics is spot on and reminiscent of my first Super 8 movie film camera. CS-8 is very easy to use and to my surprise the resulting footage was very sharp. Great nostalgic job.
