New Love for Video

Love love love!!! The CS8 brought an excitement for video documentation that I as a photographer have honestly never experienced before (mainly from being intimidated by modern day videography tech, or intimidated by Super8 film costs).
Straight from the box, the CS8 feels lightweight yet substantial and beautiful in the hands. You can tell the design even down to the dials and buttons are well-built. You get the look and feel of a vintage Super8 camera but with the updated modern touch that's easy to use, without the hassle/wasted money of actual film (which is the whole charm of CampSnap overall). The different filters are fun to mess around with -- my favorites are Vintage 1 and B&W filters. An underrated feature to me (esp as someone who hasn't dabbled with video much) is the dial that allows you to choose different orientations to shoot in -- 9:16 is perfect for IG stories/reels/tiktoks, and its USB-C port makes it seamless to post to socials immediately. 8x digital zoom and a f/2. 0 lens makes it versatile. Being able to attach a strap to it, along with how lightweight it is, makes it easy to bring along or throw in your backpack.
Most importantly, the CS8 is honestly just so freakin FUN. It's an experience! If you're looking for HD 4K cinematic films with crisp audio and stabilization, this is not made for you -- however, the whole charm is that it brings back that fun in shooting and documenting video and everyday moments that anyone from a kid to a professional can use this easily, and brings back the nostalgia of Super8 films. I handed it to my spouse who doesn't care about cameras and even he felt excited running around with it. The unique experience itself and the excitement to pick it up and shoot makes it worth it. The CS8 is honestly gonna accompany me so much from here on (wedding gigs, travels, etc)!! CampSnap always killin it

Brings me back to the 90s

The CS8 brings me right back to the 90s, when my parents used to film home videos of the family. It nails that nostalgic vibe, especially with the multiple built-in filters. The grainy analog filter is my go-to. The CS8 has a good weight to it, which makes it feel sturdy and well-built in your hands. It’s definitely a fun and handy camcorder for documenting everyday life with a touch of old-school charm.

This camera does a great job of capturing moments in such a simple and nostalgic way. The camera is great at capturing both in a cinematically or like that of a home video. Definitely a great way to change up how moments are captured!

Awesome little video camera!

I was never really one for video, but I wanted to try something different outside of standard still photography. I’m so glad I took the gamble, because this thing is FUN.
I’m still no Scorsese, but it’s been great to be able to film family events, make tiktoks or reels, etc. I love the fact that you can change aspect ratios and the film filters. I really dig the one with the added noise for that vintage feel. Grab it! You won’t regret it!

Super 8 Dream

The CS8 by Camp Snap is pure joy in a camera. From the moment I picked it up, I knew this was something special. It’s got that perfect blend of nostalgic charm and modern simplicity that makes shooting video actually fun again, way more fun than pulling out your phone.
First off, the build quality is incredible. It feels solid. The thoughtful design make it comfortable to hold, and it just looks cool. People ask about it every time I use it.
Then there’s the video quality, way more impressive than I expected. It nails that Super 8 aesthetic without trying too hard. The footage has just the right amount of grain and character, giving everything you shoot a warm, cinematic vibe straight out of the box.
But above all, it’s the experience that makes the CS8 so special. It brings back the magic of shooting for the moment. It’s stripped down, intuitive, and inspiring. I find myself bringing it everywhere, on walks, road trips, even just to the coffee shop.

Fun Nostalgic home video camera

I got this becuase my kids at 4 & 6, and I thought it would be cool to document our family trips, swimming in the pool, etc just like the old days (I'm 36) so I guess they aren't really "old days". This brings a lot of fun into video and the family loves it.

Easy to Achieve Vintage Vibes!

The best part, the world of immediacy, where phones are available at all times to capture, and ultimately view the photos or footage instantly, it’s good for our brains, our childrens brains, or have some patience and wait until we get home to see our capture images, and the CS8 does that.
It gives us a chance to live in the moment, while still capturing the moment, and for that, I really enjoy the camera.
