I've had several versions of the Snap Grip, as well as other phone grips, but this one takes the cake. Implementing a highly functional stand for portrait viewing while maintaining the same thinness that the Snap Grip is known for makes this grip unbeatable. Thanks, OhSnap!
One of the BEST Phone grip/stand I ever had! Love that it easily attaches to any of my MagSafe phone cases. I can charge my phone on my MagSafe charger without removing the grip. It’s super slim design makes it very sleek and keeps my phone less bulky. I love it.. so much I will have to buy it in other colors!
It seems to work well. But it is a little tight to get it open to use the stand. I’m not sure if that’s something that will come with use, or will stay the same forever. Might be an idea to make that a little more lubricated so it moves slightly easier.
Brilliant Engineering—Just Needs a "Comfort" OptionI am very happy with my Snap Grip Stand! It's brilliant in its design. It is so slim and unobtrusive, yet it packs multiple deployable aspects. The way it transitions effortlessly from a secure grip to a multi-angle portrait and landscape stand without adding any annoying pocket bulk is amazing. The reasons I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 come down to two specific things: 1. Ergonomics: The middle disc holder and the plastic extender arms are made of a very rigid, hard plastic. On a larger, heavier phone, those hard edges really dig into my fingers. It could be a lot more comfortable, and I actually find myself not using the finger disc as often because of this. Disappointing, but I am hoping that with more use it won't feel quite as harsh. I wish the inner loop components were made of silicone or at least had a soft silicone coating to cushion the grip. Even if they had to add a few millimeters to its profile to make that happen, it would be 100% worth it, IMO! 2. Magnet Strength: The built-in magnet wasn't quite strong enough to hold securely to my car holder out of the box. I ended up adding a thin circular magnet into the middle myself, which partially fixed the issue (falls off on bumpy roads). It grips securely to most other flat metal surfaces I've tried, but not all of them.I know the hard plastic design is engineered so MagSafe and wireless charging signals can pass through the center. However, since a lot of us don't use wireless charging, Ohsnap could offer two separate models: The MagSafe/Wireless Version: The current ultra-thin, hard plastic design for the wireless charging crowd. The Comfort Version: A slightly thicker profile version featuring soft, cushioned silicone loops for those of us who plug our phones in and prioritize comfort over wireless charging compatibility. All of that being said, I still love the overall functionality. Having an easily adaptable stand, a small finger disc, a loop for hanging, and absolutely zero pocket bulk is fantastic and I am incredibly happy I found it and I have no regrets about my purchase!
Nice and light. Good for 90% of my use. While the mag-safe also attaches to my mag car mount, it does not maintain charging in my mag safe beside table mount (needs to be removed). The one thing I’d change: The packaging in cane in weights more than the mount. Its excessive, non recyclable, and totally unnecessary.
