No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The phone looks great and operates great. The start up process is too complicated. It ask questions about setup of the phone and the installed bloatware and gives no information about the impact of the answers. I have used Samsun phones and tablets for many years and yet there is no way that I or anyone can guess the best answers for many of the questions. I comes with no instructions to help understand the impact of the questions. The advertisements brag about the high resolution camera, but did you know that it defaults to a much lower resolution? Sure, you can change the default setting, but nothing told me there was a default low resolution setting. And the list of similar issues is too long for a review.
