battery life is the biggest complain, have to turn off AOD, but the wake on gesture is not working perfectly. Sometimes it has lag especially during activity.

Thank you for your feedback! The battery life of your Venu X1 may be affected by how it's being used. This article offers additional battery life assumptions to give you some additional insight: http://ms.spr.ly/6421sYnYU
With regard to the troubles with the gesture feature, please follow the suggestions outlined here: http://ms.spr.ly/6422sYnYq
I also recommend syncing with the Garmin Connect app or with Garmin Express on a computer to ensure that the software on your watch is up-to-date. If these issues persist, please reach out to Garmin Support directly at 1-800-800-1020 (Mon-Fri, 7am-7pm Central) and a representative will be happy to assist you further.
I just bought Venu X1 two days ago. Before i used Fitbit Versa. What i'd like to have on Venu 1. Needs a widget option for Android phone, so that i could see critical for me information on the screen of the phone without opening the APP. 2. Notifications on the watch - it's awful. First, it's huge, covering all the display, hiding all the information. and timeout for 30 seconds the less - that's too long. it should be around 3 seconds for fast glancing, and if i think it's important - i can open it from the notifications zone. And second - come on, give some privacy. Notifications so huge, that anyone can see it. even if i set a privacy gesture mode - it's opening the full message if i am not too careful when rotating the watch, it can open the message just when i bring up the hand to watch what kind of notification that was in general. I hope to know that you are working on widget option. and really hope you can improve notification thing. let it cover just a part of the screen. give an option of faster timeout. and that will solve the privacy issue enough.

I switched from my Apple Watch 10 to the X1 due to the battery life, slim design, and golf app and was excited to try this watch out. It was almost perfect, but the large size looked way out of proportion to my smaller wrist. So I decided to return it and get the Venu 3 instead. If Garmin would come out with a smaller version I would switch back in a heart beat.
The watch design and software are great. Huge screen, great battery (getting 5-6 days with a 30-40 min GPS workout each day), and it barely feels like it is on my wrist. Major downside for me is the band. The included band is almost too small to easily get on and off my wrist without having to slip it out of one side. The lugs are 24mm which is VERY challenging to find the replacement bands I want. Had they been either 22 or 26, this would be a 5-star review.
