I am loving this machine! It is so easy to use - as someone who has previous espresso machine experience (many years ago), but has been intimidated by the home brew process, this machine checks all the boxes. Cannot recommend enough!

First espresso machine. Compact but sturdy. The tampers and portafilter have a nice feel. They help new users by providing classes and instruction videos. Doesnt take long to heat like 5 mins. Has nice work flow and a lots of features. I've used medium roast, lever, and 9 bar so far There is geeky settings memu if that is your fancy. Nice drip tray. So far makes a great cup/shot. I am happy with purchase. Great design.

It makes espresso, it steams milk, it makes hot water. What else could you want in an espresso machine?

This is my first REAL espresso machine, so far very pleased with the performance. A great value option for those wanting more control than a superautomatic. Looking forward to future updates to the firmware that will enhance the user experience even more.

I purchased this soon after it was announced and have been looking forward to receiving my Espresso Series 1 for almost a year. I am new to espresso and while there has been a learning curve, the coffee has been amazing! I love the design of this machine, it fits perfectly alongside my Aiden, Kettle and Ode 2. I look forward to purchasing a new grinder soon. I recognize that some of the challenges I've had with consistency has been more with my inexperience. The machine has all the tools to help me learn. I look forward to perfecting this fantastic craft!

My wife and I are far from being coffee aficionados. After watching a few of the YouTube videos and actually visiting the San Francisco store we are very comfortable using the machine. Attended the online class as well and found it to be very informative. Very happy with our maching.

I’ve been using the ES1 for a couple of weeks and I’ve enjoyed getting to know its ins and outs. For me, the ES1 has delivered on what was promised, and has made getting into making espresso easy and approachable. While the exterior is plastic, the build feels solid and high quality. As I become more comfortable with the machine, I’ve appreciated the ES1’s ability to make tweaks to the process. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting into and learning about espresso.

Overall very happy with this machine. Initial dial in of volumetric system a little confusing. I don't like going to reddit to find answers. Recently I found water on my countertop. I thought I had a leak. Water tank was almost empty. Well even though I had only had 3 coffees it was full. But again reddit was the answer. During a wind storm the power went out. So each time it came back on the machine back flushes. Also steam wand purges a large amount of water. I guess their will be a software update. Lastly the app. I can't figure out what it does. It doesn't control any settings. You can't create profiles with it. So far no firmware updates. So what does it do? Maybe during production of the machine someone could have worked on the app. I still think a good machine but not perfect.
