Amazing, easy to get straight into it.
still not a big fan of the dial itself but it is very smooth and has a lot of settings for me to learn.

My delight with ES1

I bought during the announcement last year, and have been waiting.
My previous machine was a baby Gaggia that made wonderful espresso, but it was 20 years old, and because I wasnt descaling properly, I needed to take it apart and clean it. I thought about a Decent, but then felt that ES1 had many of the same profile features that I wanted, and it was 3x cheaper (at the initial sale).

The ES1 is a beautiful machine. It looks great. It makes excellent and consistent espresso. The steam feature is so consistent that my children are making steamed honey milk drinks all the time. I've found the "modern arc" profile to be the best one. I thought I would want to mess around with special profiles like people do with the Decent machine, but I don't feel the urge. It is such a delight to use this machine.
The volumetric control has been off, but that is easy to mess with. I haven't dialed it in perfectly yet.
I would like there to be a pairing with the scale to get 36g. But these are nits.

I just love having this machine, and feel it was the best thing I bought in 2025.

This is my first own semi-automatic machine, but I have played with some friend's machines as well as consuming (too much) coffee/espresso related content.
Been playing around with it for a couple days. I was able to dial it in rather quickly - within about 4 pulls. There is a lot to learn with espresso, but Fellow has released a ton of resources to help a novice. I haven't encountered any issues that you may find online in the small vacuum of cases. Everything has worked like a charm right out of the box. Overall, I'm really pleased with the purchase and am looking forward to progressing, not only my own skills but also with Fellow and their planned improvements.

Still dialing in, have made excellent cappuccinos, 85% of the way there to a perfect espresso. Beautiful design, solid manufacturing

A great machine with lots of promise

I have now owned this machine for just about a week. I am new to espresso and was waiting on a machine that felt like the perfect balance between being beginner friendly while also possessing the capability to deliver pathways to experimenting more and more as I continued to become more comfortable with the processes. With no real prior knowledge of espresso machine use, I was able to arrive at consistent “good” to “great” shots by day 3 (though for full transparency, I supplemented my lack of personal knowledge with a lot of internet research and also invested in a higher-end grinder). The user interface is relatively straightforward and simple to use, which I also imagine will improve even further once app functionality arrives. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone who is at a similar level in their interests and experience with their espresso journey.
As a final note, an unexpected standout of this purchase has been the availability and accompanying knowledge delivered by the Fellow team, who have taken incredible steps in delivering the information needed to feel completely confident with my choice in this purchase. Thanks especially to Hailie & Nick here.

Best Espresso machine in the market

I originally pre-ordered this back in April 2025. Was really excited when it arrived recently. This is by far one of the best espresso machines I have seen on the market. I have owned a couple different espresso machines, but this is the first that has made cafe quality drinks at my house. Has a ton of features. Will be diving in more to learn all of the different things Espresso Series 1 can do. Great job Fellow.
