Dirty dishes

Paid a lot of money and it doesn't get the dishes clean . Our last dishwasher was 20 plus years old and worked perfectly until it died. This is brand new and not worth it

Brand New Unit Has Mildew Smell

Just got this new GE Profile Dishwasher (Model PDT715SYV8FS) installed and it has a strong smell of mildew. The Owners Manual and other docs felt damp also. I ran the first wash cycle as instructed in the manual but still smells. I hope I can get rid of the odor somehow, otherwise I will need to return it.

We want to help you with the smell of your dishwasher. We recommend mixing one gallon of water with 1/2 cup of chlorine bleach OR mix one gallon of water with 1/2 cup of ammonia. Wipe out the interior using the solution with a cloth or sponge. Run the Dishwasher through the rinse cycle to remove any residue before loading dishes. Running the dishwasher at least once per week can usually prevent this odor, especially if food residue is present. The fact the part needed for maintenance has to be bought extra is not fair . Too much information needed to register for warranty. Hopefully information is not shared or hacked .

Great dishwasher

Bought this dishwasher to replace an aging, but still working GE dishwasher after 15 years of hard use. The new features and internal rack system far exceeds the previous unit. Love the top of door controls as well as the WiFi and app features. The unit is so quiet you can barely tell it’s running unlike the old unit’s clunk, clunk, clunk noise during the wash cycle. Dishes come out sparkling clean and there is no residue/marks left on glassware. The adjustable rack is a great feature as are the retractable tines in the lower unit. The WiFi notification of amount of time left and the cycle completion features are very nice as well.
