[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When it came time to switch from US Cellular to T-Mobile, due to the recent merger. At the time, I chose to upgrade my current cell phone as well. I looked at all the budget cell phones. I chose the Galaxy A 17 5G. 5 years ago I had owned Galaxy A 13 5G. The specs of the new A 17 5G are more storage. A 13 5G had 64 gigs, the A 17 5G is double at 128 gigs. I love my A 17 5G. A 17 5G in my opinion a great budget phone. My previous cell phone maker their budget phones prices are currently reflecting their mid tier cell phones. With Samsung Galaxy A series I look forward to see how better the phone gets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I Chose to submit a 4star(always room for improvement) though I must say this phone is really a 5 star(rating). To start off I am terrible with cell phones. I'll drop a cell(ground or toilet believe it or not) or I'll download too much. But with this particular phone I must say i really do not have any complaints. It has enough storage(previous phones never did),still to this day the battery is optimal shape and this is the longest I've gone without having to replace. Thank you!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Touch screen is very quirky and sometimes unresponsive, sometimes when ringing it won't let you answer it and ringing won't stop. Touch screen can sometimes be all over the place or don't respond at all, looking to upgrade as soon as I can afford to, never experience this with any phone before.

Response from Samsung USBy R&R, August 14, 2026
Greetings Terris,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Galaxy A17 5G. The Galaxy A17 5G features a large display, 5G connectivity, and everyday functionalities designed to make daily tasks more manageable. We understand that inconsistent touch response and issues with answering incoming calls can make the phone frustrating to use. Since the touchscreen is central to navigation on your Galaxy device, we recognize how concerning it can be when it doesn’t function properly.
Fortunately, there are some simple steps you can take to resolve touchscreen issues if it becomes frozen or unresponsive. If you have a third-party screen protector or accessory attached, it may interfere with touchscreen performance. Problems can arise from dust or air trapped underneath the protector, multiple protective films layered on the screen, or if the film is peeling at the edges. Consider removing any screen protector or film that is peeling or has debris beneath it. If you prefer to keep the screen protector, you can enable the touch sensitivity option to improve response to taps and touches. To do this, open Settings, tap Display, and toggle the Touch Sensitivity switch.
Additionally, the touchscreen may not respond well if you wear gloves, have dirty fingers, or if you touch the screen with your fingernails or a ballpoint pen. Similarly, keep in mind that a conductive object, such as a coin or key, nearby may affect the touchscreen's performance. If the Touch Sensitivity setting is enabled without a protective film, the touchscreen might respond too sensitively, leading to malfunction. In that case, you can disable the Touch Sensitivity feature by going to Settings, tapping Display, and turning off the switch next to Touch Sensitivity.
Lastly, ensure that your device’s software is regularly updated. Keeping your device’s software up to date is essential for smooth performance. It is also a good idea to check for updates to any third-party apps you use, as they may let you customize your gesture preferences.
Thank you for providing feedback about screen responsiveness; it gives Samsung valuable insight into everyday user experiences.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this phone because I don't need it for work purposes and I wanted something for everyday use that could do all the things I need it to do without the bells and whistles of the more expensive models, and it satisfies all of those needs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well this is my first galaxy in a very long time. And a much needed upgrade on the memory. I am still learning all the functions that this new phone has.
