This phone sucks
on April 13, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Galaxy AI. This phone sucks. The keyboard keeps dropping off when I am in the middle of typing a message and I've got to wait several seconds for it to reappear. I have two texting apps. The Google one will not give me notifications. The Samsung one (the one that actually works) is being discontinued in July 2026. When the phone is in my pocket it will open and start playing music and other apps. When I try to open it, I usually have to make several attempts to open using the fingerprint sensor. I can't make an outbound phone call when I'm in my apartment for some reason. It used to work, but not anymore and I live in a major city. Other than that laundry list of flaws, it's a great phone.

Greetings Steve1701, Thank you for sharing your experiences with your Galaxy A17 5G. It's designed to handle everyday tasks, and your feedback on its responsiveness, notifications, and overall usability is valuable in highlighting the full experience.
It seems your phone could benefit from a quick optimization. To monitor your device's performance, you can use the Device care feature, which provides an overview of your battery, storage, and RAM. This feature also lets you automatically optimize your phone or tablet for faster, more efficient performance.
The Quick optimization feature enhances your device's performance by identifying apps that drain the battery. It also clears unnecessary items from memory, removes unwanted files, scans for malware, and closes apps running in the background. Optimizing your phone is quick and easy:
1. Go to Settings. 2. Swipe to and tap Device care. 3. Tap Optimize now, and then tap Done.
For more information, please check the online resources provided below.
If you're experiencing issues with connections and outbound calls being redirected, this could be a glitch with your carrier. We recommend reaching out to your network provider to discuss your experience, as there may be specific steps you need to follow in your device settings that vary by carrier.
Thank you for your feedback, and for being part of the Samsung family!

I have had this phone for less than 2 months.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have not used Galaxy AI. I absolutely loath this phone! It glitches constantly making it very difficult to use. Especially, when im in a hurry and trying to call someone or close out an app. Because of this phone, I will NEVER buy another Samsung device again. I haven't even mentioned the redundant apps Samsung preloaded on the device which makes it needlessly more confusing when trying to to things like tap to pay

Hey there MisterRevealator, We understand how frustrating this situation has been for you. The Galaxy A17 5G is designed for everyday use, and your feedback regarding its responsiveness and usability emphasizes the need for a smooth and reliable experience. Screen flickering or glitches on your Galaxy phone or tablet can be caused by several factors, including screen damage, outdated software, app conflicts, or underlying bugs. To resolve these issues, we recommend the following steps: 1. **Inspect the Device**: Check for any visible screen damage. 2. **Update Software**: Ensure that your device is running the latest software version. 3. **Adjust Display Settings**: Review your display settings for optimal performance. 4. **Reset Problematic Apps**: If any specific apps seem to be causing issues, reset them. 5. **Clear Old Memory**: Occasionally, clearing old memory can help improve processing speed. To do this, go to the Device Care menu, tap on Memory, and then select "Clean now" to free up memory and stop background apps from slowing down your device. If you want to keep certain apps active, you can add them to the "Excluded apps" list by tapping "+" and selecting your preferred apps. After completing these steps, test your device as you normally would to see if the concern has been resolved. Very disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use my phone for going online, watching videos, checking emails and social media. As well as texting and calls. Unfortunately this phone is the absolute worst phone I have owned. It will not load and has hug delays in text messaging and phone calls. No matter how many times I restart the phone or uninstall and reinstall apps it just doesn't work. Facebook messenger has a huge delays and glitches out. Taking a photo often makes my phone crash completely. I can't even take a photo.... Will never buy another A series phone!
