Horrible phone
on March 30, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This phone really sucks. The specs show that it should be way more advanced than my 7 year old S10e. But performance of the new phone is non-existent compared to the old phone. Worse, I bought 2 of these. One for me, one for my wife. She hates hers, too. I was warned that multitasking wouldn't be good on these. I don't really multitask, so I thought it would be ok. I didn't realize having the text app open while trying to take a picture was "multitasking". Take a picture while listening to music? Forget it. The phone freezes up and takes a minute to do anything. It is really bad. I'm so glad it doesn't have "Galaxy AI" to slow it down even more. Speaking of which, Ask Gemini sucks, too. You have to get to an open screen before you can ask it anything. It doesn't hear you half the time. Overall, it is nowhere near as good as Ask Google was. I really loved my last 4 or 5 Samsung phones. This one will make me look to other manufacturers next time.

BENEFICIAL FEATURES
on March 31, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Here is a quick review of Samsung Galaxy AI, focusing on the experience as of early 2026.
The Gist
Samsung’s Galaxy AI has evolved from a flashy gimmick into the backbone of the Galaxy ecosystem. While it no longer carries the "beta" feel of the S24 series, its utility is split between genuinely useful "quality of life" features and a few you’ll forget exist.
The Good: What Works
· Circle to Search (The MVP): Still the killer app. Being able to long-press the home button and circle anything on the screen—whether it’s a weird plant, a YouTube video frame, or text you can’t copy—is now an essential muscle memory. It’s fast, intuitive, and works seamlessly. · Interpreter & Live Translate: This remains the industry benchmark. The "Interpreter" mode now works seamlessly across foldable screens (if you have a Fold) and supports two-way conversation without needing a data signal for basic translations. Call translation is still eerily smooth. · Generative Edit: It has gotten significantly better. The "fill" feature is now competitive with Google Magic Eraser, and the ability to move objects with realistic background reconstruction is genuinely useful for cleaning up vacation photos. However, Samsung’s processing can still occasionally make edits look slightly "oily" compared to Pixel.
The Mixed: The Hiccups
· On-Device vs. Cloud: Samsung promised most AI would run on the device, but for complex tasks (like heavy photo editing or lengthy summarization), you are still dependent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just recently purchased the phone about a week ago. The Galaxy Ai Is a plus the screen is vivid and clear. The camera works well. Average set up ease i did have some difficulties getting started talk to genimi which comes in stock in the phone and it cleared it up and helped me get through it. The moto g stylist 5 g phone that I also have is a close toss up\nBoth seem to be very similar in function it Is a toss up as they have different features? Also, but I've decided to mainly use the Galaxy A17. as my primary cell i think it has more options.\nAnd reality.

Very Slow Phone
on April 1, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This phone is terribly slow and I'm not talking about my actual service. I'm talking about this phone is slow when going from app to app or from unlocking the phone to your Home screen. It's ridiculous really! I work as a delivery driver so when I'm at someone's house about to drop an order off I sure don't want to be just sitting in their driveway trying to get the app to open since usually I am using the "map's" app. It just makes me feel uncomfortable. People have guns and things now days and people don't just trust anyone anymore. I get it! When I see someone turn in my driveway I start to wonder who it is, why they are there, and such. I get nervous. I don't want my customers to feel any type of way because I am in their driveway trying to pull up the app and their information or scan the items to be delivered and such. They need to fix it or discontinue the phone! I love Samsung products except this one! 😒 Now I have tried some of the Galaxy A. I. things and it has helped me so much when I needed a cover letter written and other things I used it for. Crazy how smart A. I. is getting too. Wow!!

Hi there LimitedEdition84, Thank you for sharing your experience! The Galaxy A17 5G is designed to handle everyday tasks on the go, and it’s great to hear that Galaxy AI has been helpful in your daily routine. Keeping your apps and settings optimized can lead to smoother performance. However, if you are using a GPS application, you might notice your device slowing down due to the processing power it requires. You can improve your device's performance by optimizing it in the Device Care section under Settings. For more information, please review the link provided below. Thank you for being a valued Samsung customer. Keep your Galaxy phone or tablet from slowing down with Device Care https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10001953/

Phone has been reliable and ver easy to navigate.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Digital Extension: Why the Modern Smartphone Experience is an Unparalleled Human Triumph For decades, science fiction writers dreamed of a "universal tool"—a single device that could translate any language, navigate any terrain, and hold the sum of human knowledge in the palm of a hand. In 2026, that dream hasn't just been realized; it has become so seamless that we often forget how miraculous it actually is. A "great" phone experience is no longer defined by how many megapixels a camera has or how fast a processor can crunch numbers. Instead, it is defined by "invisible technology"—the way a device anticipates our needs, simplifies our complexities, and dissolves the barriers between us and the world around us. My experience with my phone is great because it has transitioned from being a mere tool to becoming a cognitive and social extension of myself. The Power of "Invisible" Efficiency The first pillar of a great phone experience is productivity, but not the kind that feels like work. In the past, being productive meant sitting at a desk with a glowing monitor. Today, my phone experience is great because it allows for "micro-productivity." Whether I am standing in line for coffee or sitting on a train, I can manage a global workflow. This efficiency is driven by modern AI integration. A great experience is when I don't have to search for a flight confirmation email because my phone has already extracted the data, added it to my calendar, and sent me a notification that

I love this phone
on April 9, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a galaxy a17 5g and I absolutely love it!! I use it for everything- from tap to pay to reading to social media to staying in touch with my family and friends- this phone does it all. It's so fast, and has so much more memory than other basic model phones. I love how smooth the user interface is, and how easy it is to use. My very favorite thing about it is how I'm able to use different themes in the galaxy store. I have so many of them, because they have paid and free options, and it completely makes my phone feel like mine. I will 100% never switch away from Samsung anything again. You guys have def gained a lifelong customer. Thank you.
