Horrible phone
on April 27, 2026
Posted by: JoshRi81
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My brand new Samsung Galaxy A17 5G is honestly the worst phone I have ever had. It is slow, apps crash all of the time and whenever I make a call it drops my first attempt every single time. I have never had a phone suggesting that I restart it so it runs better. And it never works, so it's a bad suggestion. I have never used Galaxy AI. And when I can be able to afford another phone I am not going to get a Samsung. I'll never get another Samsung Galaxy, ever. Nothing but a bad experience.

Hi JoshRi81,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Galaxy A17 5G. This device features a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, ensuring you have power for your busy days. It's equipped with the Exynos 1330 processor, which provides smooth HD streaming, responsive gaming, and seamless social sharing.
Storage options start at 128GB with 4GB of RAM, and you can expand storage up to 2TB through a microSD card, allowing ample space for apps, photos, and media.
If you're experiencing dropped calls when you first attempt to make a call, we recommend resetting your network settings. You can find the steps for this linked below. If the behavior persists after resetting your network, please contact your carrier and inform them of your experience, as it may relate to coverage in your area.
In addition, if your phone crashes occasionally, it could be due to applications running in the background. Optimizing your device, especially during heavy usage times, may help. The quick optimization feature enhances your device's performance by identifying apps that use excessive battery power. It also clears unnecessary items from memory, deletes unneeded files, scans for malware, and closes background apps.
Optimizing your phone is quick and easy. Just go to Settings, swipe to and tap on Device care, then tap Optimize now, and finally tap Done. For more information, please check the online article linked below.
We also encourage you to explore our current offerings of devices. Thank you for your feedback; we value your presence in the Samsung community.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the features of the galaxy, however, I don't like that it listens in randomly. I've been through the settings and there is no way to stop it.

Greetings Mother0f5,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the Galaxy A17 5G. Features that make the experience smarter and more connected can feel very personal, and understanding how customers interact with them helps us improve in the future. If it seems like your phone is listening to you, it's likely because Google Assistant is active. Once set up, it captures your voice and likeness in anticipation of your requests.
Both Gemini and Google Assistant are available on Galaxy phones to assist you with questions and information across various apps. While Google Assistant serves as a powerful virtual voice assistant for everyday tasks, Gemini is an AI model that offers enhanced capabilities.
If you would like to disable Google Assistant, open the Google app, tap your profile picture, go to Settings > Google Assistant > General, and toggle the main switch for Google Assistant to Off.
For further assistance, please check out the linked online article below. Thank you for being a part of the Samsung community.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Galaxy A17 with motion pictures is amazing, the Sleep settings are wonderful. I haven't found anything with this phone to complain about & misled with a Body Glove for your Phone, no matter how many times it slips out of my pocket and crashes to the ground>><<it won't break!

An Acer Laptop with the Trojan Virus
on April 27, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the A17 over current models because it still had the bells and whistles missing from my old phone, including NFC capabilities, memory card storage options of up 1 TB, Galaxy AI and enough processing power for apps that I couldn't use before. The title of my review was an joke someone made about having to reboot their device multiple times. In my case, the problem is the touch screen often gets hypersensitive to where I can't type anything without hitting a key twice or three times. Not to mention that the fingerprint unlock feature for every account it's applied to.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how the Galaxy AI connects all my products seamlessly.
I use my device for personal use, school, work/office. This device is by far the best I've ever owned to date. This device allows me to take care of all my needs, all at once. I couldn't ask for anything more. I've been recommending it to everyone I know.
The value for this device is also Amazing!
