We have hard-wood and tile throughout the house and we have 2 beautiful dogs that shed (OMG) daily. Our bissell is the best item We have ever owned. This light weight, durable, and amazingly strong machine has done our family justice. Because we love it so much we insisted that my Mother buy one for her home. We are now buying replacement filters and just because we love our little Bissell, we are buying a second one just incase they decide to stop carrying it!!!!! Way to go Bissell, we love our featherweight vacuum!!!!!

Great for hard floors

I purchased this vacuum because of the reviews. It is really a great little vacuum. I use it almost everyday and it picks up everything. The only thing I don't like is that the chord is a little short; but I can live with that. I recommend getting extra filters because after awhile they do wear out and if you use it a lot like me you will need it. When my last bare floor vacuum broke, I didn't know what to do. The Bissell brand bare floor vacuums have great suction. I will be buying another and probably 2 for my mom ( she has all hardwood floors in her house and two dalmatians that shed all the time) But once again I am impressed and I am glad that so many people left a review because I would not have bought this vacuum if I had not read the reviews-

I've wanted to try a small upright vacuum for a long time, so as soon as we left church yesterday I asked my husband to take me to buy the Bissell Featherweight that was advertised in the Sunday newspaper. Well, we bought it, brought it home and tried it out. It's just what I needed and very flexible as far as getting under the edges of my kitchen cabinets, picking up small crumbs off of my beautiful hardwood kitchen flooring. Now it can stand in my small hall closet, waiting to be used frequently without straining my back. Thank you.

I've owned three of these vacuums. The wheels on the previous 2 vacuums were rubber padded so they glided smoothly across the floor. The newer vacuum has plastic wheels, makes lots of noise, and scratches the floor. Ok on tile, maybe, but I wouldn't use it on a wood floor. Disappointed...the motor does not seem as powerful as the previous vacuum either.
