This is the greatest little machine (especially for the price). I don't often post reviews but had to in this case. As mentioned, it is very light weight. I have a cat and it is great for cleaning up cat hair. Because I read the other reviews, I empty it over the garbage can in my garage - no problem. As for the length of the cord, I just added a 6' extension cord and it reaches all areas of my kitchen, 2 foyers and a bathroom without unplugging & moving. It is really good for sprucing up between major cleaning jobs. Thanks Bissell for a great & thrifty product.
I love this little vacuum. I bought it when we moved into our house, because we have all hard floors now, and my other vacuum had a roller, which made it less than ideal (when I vacuumed in bare feet, I could feel it flinging the dirt and debris back at me). In my search for an all-suction vacuum, I found the Bissell FeatherWeight, and I'm oh, so happy that I did! Not only is it small and easy to move (my other vacuum is not super heavy, but if you have to move it a lot, it starts feeling more and more heavy). This one I can pick up to vacuum dust or fur off the hall table, and I move from room to room in a flash (and without an aching back). Even better than the weight is how effective and powerful this little vacuum is! I read a review before I bought it that said it gets corners really well. I was skeptical, but it's true: I've tested on visible debris. The first time I used it, I emptied the dirt cup and was amazed at how much cat fur it had picked up (we only have one cat), stuff I couldn't even see; it's not like we had hairballs sitting in the corners. I figured it was just because it was new... but I vacuum just about every day (sometimes every couple days), and I'm still amazed (after about 3 months) every single time at the giant hairball when I open the dirt cup. This vacuum has made me reconsider how clean I *think* my floor is. Even when it's cleaned every day, there's a lot of junk down there. Great product!
Having had many vacuums in over 60 years this is fabulous. Works better (great suction!!) on carpeted stairs than my big Oreck and a lot easier to move back and forth. Treat this little vacuum with care and it will work beautifully for many years. Tip: empty the canister and replace the filter after each use. Get replacement filters so that you can put on a new one and wash the used one. It is important to seat the filter properly on the motor so that it is firmly down on the rim. The optional uses are easy to deploy and there is no loss of suction. Thanks Bissell!!
Great product, great suction. Could have longer cord. Do need to empty over trash can, filter holds dirt and then the bottom holds dirt and when you take apart dirt will fall every.
I had always thought 'stick' vacuums were a joke....until

I found one of these in a thrift store. Absolutely preferable, in every way, to getting out 'the big one' or traipsing out a broom and dustpan. Quiet, light, and efficient--yes, a bit tedious to empty. Just establish a routine and open it over a box in the garage and use a designated brush to clean the screen and you are good to go in under 30 seconds. Though it's clearly not meant for heavy duty use, I often use it to clean the garage floor--including sawdust. Because it's so easy to use--you'll quickly use in places that you hadn't exactly planned, window sills, for instance--back around the back of the toilet bowl--and any place you see a speck, from floor to seven feet up ! #just detach the head# Remember, the 110 volt doesn't have the internal battery weight to heft around--the inconvenience of the cord is not a problem when it's both very light and no charging fuss/delay Oh, I store mine upside down #and turning it on before I put the head down# as there is a possibility of 'leakage' from time to time Now if only they hadn't lost the crevice tool

Thanks for your review. You can purchase a crevice tool at this link: http://www.bissell.com/parts/?sc=part&productid=2576&partid=4641&icid=ccrr
The vac has good suction and is easy to switch between upright/ crevice and hand held options. It's very light too. Great for quick clean up of my hard wood and low pile rugs. I'd love a slightly longer cord. Emptying is a two hand job - I put the whole thing in a bin/bag and open inside to avoid spillage. Very good value.
have had the vacuum about 1 month and only used it a few times - I like the weight of it - I like that I can change the attachments from floor vacuum and add a nozzle for tighter places - I have not tried it as a car vacuum yet but do like the idea - I wish the vacuum bag area held more but it is not hard to empty - also wish the cord was longer -
