Compact Machine That Tries Hard.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a family of 4; 2 boys, 1 adult male, and myself. The 3 men in my life are, to put it lightly, PIGS! So, my carpets reflect that description. I have all sorts of junk on my carpets requiring me to vacuum, at least, once a day. I was quite happy to receive my Bissell Cleanview Compact Upright Vacuum (special thanks to the people at Bissell and The BzzAgent Sampling Program for sending me a free machine for this review). I was in need of a vacuum for my small 2 bedroom apartment. My first thought upon opening my package were," Wow, this thing is tiny!" It is comically small and I worried that it may not be up to the task of cleaning my carpets. Well, not for an extended period of time. So far, this little vacuum has done well. I've encountered zero problems. It's lightweight, easy to handle, and a breeze to dump all that it picks up. If I had one complaint, it would be a silly one; the cord is quite long, and doesn't really fit that well when you wind it up on the backside of the vacuum. Oh, and one more silly complaint, the attachments frequently and easily fall off the vacuum itself while vacuuming. It's annoying, but not a dealbreaker. The noise level is a bit loud but I'm not complaining because this little vacuum really works. It's picked up all that I've thrown at it thus far. Overall, a perfectly good, little machine.

An excellent little vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This small vacuum is very effective for small spaces and lightweight - it is perfect for my condo. It would also be a great choice for spot cleaning if you have small animals that have litter in their cage; it's perfect for cleaning around my chinchillas area. Thank you, Bissell, for the free vacuum!

This is a good simple vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this product from Bissell for free in exchange for this review! The packaging it arrived in was appropriate and the vacuum was secure in it. I have now used it a few times and I like it! My apartment has hardwood floors so I have multiple rugs and they are different textures. This vacuum does not have the option for different types of carpet but it still did a pretty good job. When I use it on my flatter rugs it picks things up very easily in one pass but on my fluffier rug I have to do a few passes. It was enough for my personal needs because I live alone and I don't have pets. The main thing I really love about this vacuum is how lightweight it is!! I can easily pick it up with a few fingers! The handle feels flimsy but I guess that's because you can detach it and use it as a longer nozzle which is cool. The dust compartment is also easy to remove from the vacuum and to empty. You can put it directly in the trash and press the button! I would recommend this vacuum if you're living in a one or two bedroom apartment bc it can easily fit next to the fridge or in a closet. You can fit it into an even smaller space if you store it without the handle attached! I would recommend this also to anyone who is older or has an issue lifting heavy things. This would be perfect for them!

Powerful suction, parts are rickety

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I really like this vacuum. I used it in all the bedrooms in my house and was shocked/amazed/horrified at just how much was in the canister after each pass through. I vacuumed each room 3 times and was still seeing accumulation in the canister. I also used it on hardwood to vacuum up debris from my pets, like paper shavings and random bits of seeds and food. The canister is easy to operate and open, however it does pop off if you pull on it even without the intention to get it off. I like that the handle doubles as the extending tube but the flexible tube it is attached to is not long or flexible enough for a real reach. I love how compact it is and it is definitely replacing the bag vacuum I have currently. I was unfamiliar with filter systems in vacuums before this so washing and replacing the filter is a learning curve but I haven't noticed any drop in performance after washing it or not. I like the two attachments it comes with and they fit nicely into the vacuum without falling off. Using it is very intuitive and satisfying. It definitely has good cleaning power. Some improvements to the quality of the attachments would be nice too, the whole vacuum seems "rickety" or fragile/cheap plastic. I also wish you could raise/lower the rotating brush and an easier way to cut hair out of the vacuum.

Easy to use and setup

I was impressed with the suction power and how clean it left multiple areas of my house. I used it on carpet, hardwood floors and my sofas. I'd say it's a must buy

Little yet mighty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum suctions is really great...but was quite loud compared to others I have had. I vacuum my two rugs in kitchen and living room and the barrel was full of dirt and dust. It was kinda of hard to push on the rug because the suction was strong, I got a good arm work out. Vacuum was very compact it great for storing away in closet. The power cord could have been a bit thinner or clips little bigger to wrap for storing. I would recommend definitely for pet owners.
