We bought little green machine 1400 series 4 years ago. We have used it about 10 times. It no longer sprays water or stolution. Did all the trouble shooting steps 5 times. We cannot recommend this product. Bissell should build a little green machine that does not quit working after using very infrequently in 4 years

Sorry Terryo, to hear your unit isn't spraying anymore. You may want to try removing the tool on the end of the hose and soaking it in hot water. If this doesn't help, there are a few additional troubleshooting steps not listed in the user's guide at this link: http://www.bissell.com/FAQDetail.aspx?id=1191
This is is one of the BEST and handiest household machines I have ever had! I just finally had to ditch ours after 20 YEARS..YEP! I said TWENTY YEARS. I have used it for all kinds of stains from wine to foot traffic to blue raspberry drinks my son spilled as a toddler (he is now 21) and we also used it to detail both our vehicles! I made my own carpet cleaner concoction only because I am moneywise and know how to get anything but nail polish out of any surface...and do pretty good on nail polish often. I never needed a heating element in mine and figured it was just something else to break. I have tackled larger entry-ways, on my hands and knees, that greyed during winter traffic and snow melts and still got it clean. I did clean & dry out all parts after use so it was taken care of. The only part to ever break was the button that makes the water suck back up on the brush handle, and once that was gone I ditched it. I am here to buy another machine for me and one for my son for Christmas... probably the same Green Machines!! I wish you'd kept the Little Green or Little Black names...can't beat them! WooHoooo!
I agree with most of the previous reviews. Very easy to use, solution works well on very dirty furniture. Only drawback is the brush is hard to clean out. The clear part should be removable so it could be rinsed clean. The brush is cheap enough to replace, but wouldn't it be better if you didn't have to replace it?
she sleeps so sound when she sleeps on our couch, that she wets herself without knowing. This little green machine works great for those little accidents. I have also used it on a few places on our carpet, more accidents, and it works great there too. I love it, it is so much easier than getting out my big carpet cleaner. I would tell everyone to get this little green machine.
Lightweight but powerful for high traffic areas and any spills or pet accidents that sometime occur. Would recommend this to anyone. I have oriental fairly large size rugs and used machine to remove a pet stain that had an odor.
I have been designing and making wool/silk rugs in Nepal for years. The first question is "How do I clean my expensive rug when I only need to spot clean?" My answer is "Get yourself a Little Green Machine!" I have given many of these to customers and explain that they can have it ready to go when they have company. If someone spills a glass of wine, grab your machine and have the spill extracted in no time. . . .while it is fresh and not 'set'. I have been thanked a dozen times. I also keep one handy at home. With 2 dogs it's a "rug-saver". . .!!!
I've only used my Little Green twice, but so far I am thrilled with it! I'm challenged when it comes to figuring out how to use new machines, but I figured out how to use and how to clean it afterward without any help from my "handy hubby". Both times, once I started cleaning, I just kept on, and wound up cleaning some places on furniture, and looked for spots all over my house to clean. I highly recommend this product!
Love, love, LOVE this machine. It works great, I've had it for almost a year now and it's been a lifesaver while potty-training and for those unexpected little surprises that two very young children and a dog love to cause. My only issue with it is it has effectively trapped dog hair in the head of the cleaning piece. I've tried everything to get it out. It is gross to look at, and slightly embarrassing to use in front of people. But much less embarrassing than a spotty carpet

Thanks for the review. If cleaning attempts have been unsuccessful in getting the hair out of the brush, you can replace it. Here is a link to the tool: http://www.bissell.com/parts/?sc=part&productid=2854&partid=4397&icid=ccrr
