I hope Bissell takes this as constructive as my view as the perfect vacuum. Headlights are mandatory for pet hair. As a senior citizen I need the rewind feature. The swivel is not necessary but nice to have. Now for the worst. We have 2 long hallways and trying to vacuum the pet hair , the low exhaust in a closed in hallway sends most of the dog hair airborne like my Dyson Ball animal that has no head lights and exhausts near floor level. It's hard to chase airborne dog hair. I do have a favorite vacuum for the hallways but it has to be emptied often , the Bissell 4205 is perfect for the hallways. Perhaps Bissell will add head lights to a canister vacuum, this will allow the exhaust to blow out far behind operator and not blow the dog hair. All in all every Bissell I buy is better than the last. I guess they put more effort into research and development rather than the endless informercials. To make everything transparent there is NO carpet in our house all tile and laminate.

Thanks for sharing your thoughtful feedback, Sam! We appreciate your suggestions—they help us improve. Headlights and exhaust placement are great points, especially for homes with hard floors and pet hair. We’ll pass this along to our product team for consideration in future designs. Tangle-Free vacuum definitely keeps the hair from tangling on the roller brush. Plastic canister insert was dropped while cleaning it and broke one fin and cracked another, other wise would of given five stars.

With a dog and 3 new woolen area rugs, my Bissell is getting quite the workout and it shows by the amount of dog fur and rug "fur" that it collects. What I like equally, is how easy it is to clean after every use. Empty the canister, rinse out the canister and both filters, let dry overnight and ready to go. The "headlights" and retractable cord are bonuses.

I can not use it myself, because I am 80 years old and not very strong. to heavy for me to manage myself. I have a lady that care for me weekly and sh has no problem because she is about 30 years younger than I has no problem handling.it As for performance it is wonderful and I love the clear view it allows me to see all the dirt and fur it picks up. I had 2 cats but I only have one now. I was amazed at all the fur and dirt it picked up. I liked being able to see what a great job it did. I would buy it again if I were stronger. But I love the machine and works wonders. you need to let people know how heavy it is to move. I am going to try raising it higher, to see if that makes it easier for me to handle

This vacuum is perfect for my household. I have two cats that shed and hair builds up quickly on my rugs. Also, there is a lot of dust in my area that collects on my rugs and floors. This vacuum gets it all up with superior suction and lightweight maneuverability. The pet hair does not clog the brushes. The self winding cord is a nice feature, noise is low, and the canister is easy to remove and clean. Highly recommend!

The jury's still out a little bit on this vacuum I'm a long time user of Electrolux in fact we've had the vacuum for 24 years and it finally tore up we can't get parts for it so I went ahead and went with the Bissell because we have two cats and we have carpet and hardwood it seemed to do pretty good but you do have to adjust the head on it up and down for the pile of carpet I'm still getting used to that and I feel that the head unit button where you push on it to make the head go down and up seems a little flimsy but I might be just me really honestly you should come back to me six months from now send this e-mail again and I could tell you more intelligently what I think of the vacuum thank you all they

Thanks for sharing your early experience—we understand there can be a learning curve when switching machines, especially with mixed flooring and pet hair. The height adjustment is designed to change by carpet pile, and the foot pedal is built for regular use, but if it continues to feel loose our team can help check it out.
