This Bissell is significantly better than the Rug Doctor I was using before: much better cleaning power, easier to maneuver, easier to clean tanks, construction of unit and materials appear more durable. I’ve been using the Bissell for pet stains and on rugs that had not been shampooed in years and I’m extremely satisfied.

I jokingly refer to this as the beast, because it is! When my husband unboxed it, he said the cord was as heavy as the machine......close!
I have two dogs, one is a puppy, so plenty of messes! The first time I used it, after one room I was exhausted! It is a lot to push around! I have also found depending on your carpet will be how difficult it is to push. The thicker, plusher carpet is a work out! Honestly the thing needs a self-propelled button! What I love is there is nothing that won't come clean! It tackles the worst of the worst! What could be improved, I don't understand why the tanks are not clear. They are milky, frosted white and it's near impossible to keep an eye on the solution level.....very frustrating! The tanks are large and heavy! This is both a blessing and a curse. I can certainly do a a lot of rooms with a full tank. However, if I only have one room it's a waste of solution because it will sour or something if you leave it in there for days! I wish it had lines to half fill. I went through 4 regular carpet cleaners, they would last about a year and get stuck and either wouldn't roll or wouldn't suck up the water. This beast will hopefully give me my money's worth! If you are looking for something next to industrial then this is it! Just make sure you have the muscle to handle it because it's not for sissies!

I really love this machine. I’ve been a long time Bissell user for years and have always stuck with their basic/mid tier carpet shampooers because I couldn’t afford the Big Green. I heard good reviews about it and was able to afford it during Black Friday, so I figured I’d try it out. The Big Green is phenomenal and a whole new level - their basic and mid tier cleaners work great but this is like top notch! It cleans so effortlessly and it helps lighten & soften my carpet so good. Some pros I have for this machine include: a long powder cord, a comfortable handle, a button sprayer vs trigger (which my fingers appreciate), elite cleaning power and results, and the large tanks - I love not having to stop every 10 minutes to empty & refill the tanks! There are only two cons for this but I love the machine and it works great, so the pros overpower these - the machine is really heavy so you’ll get tired after a while of pushing and pulling. I also found it difficult to maneuver under desks, tables & beds with low clearance that the other lower tiers could usually fit under. Turning corners/going around a wall is pretty difficult because of its bulkiness and weight. These are a bit inconvenient but like I said, the pros make it totally worth it.
Some tips I have that have made my carpet cleaning easier & more effective are: vacuuming thoroughly first, pretreating with an outdoor pump sprayer & using hot water (but to not exceed the maximum temp). As you push, go at an average pace while spraying. When you pull back, walk slow so it gets deep into the fibers & sucks up most of the water. Once you’re done, fill the water tank with JUST hot water and repeat the process. This helps pull up any extra surface dirt and soap, which reduces the amount of dirt that would get stuck versus if you didn’t do a rinse round

I have two Alapaha bulldogs and they drool a lot. I was able to clean all area rugs perfectly, even the shaggy area rugs. I also cleaned both oversized sofas and one over side chair with ease.

Home Smells Clean

I love this machine! It has changed the smell in my house (I use it very slowly). I’ve used it on all my carpet. I have 2 dachshunds who are still learning to potty train and have way too many accidents. This machine has saved my carpets!
