I am a conosouier of sorts for all things floor cleaning. I have been a stay at home mom for a decade and we have 7 people and 4 pets in our house. I have purchased numerous carpet cleaners over the course of 12 years and all of them fell flat. This one is amazing!! I am so happy I splurged for this. It holds a ton, it works so well you don't need to go so slow. It made my carpet look new! We just moved in here in August and the owners claimed they had a carpet company come in and clean, but I have serious doubts after what I pulled out of this floor. I thought I was just going to do a small area with a spill, I ended up doing a whole room! It's so obvious where I cleaned, I can't stop!

At twice the cost of many home units, we have long avoided buying any of these Bissell models that are rated for both commercial and home use. When we were recently forced to discard two previously purchased Hoover carpet cleaners, our frustration at the overall build quality and ease of operation finally persuaded us to spend the extra needed to get the Bissell Big Green Pet Pro. It has not disappointed. With some effort I have been able to get good results from cleaning units like Hoover. Slow passes, downward pressure added, and so forth. The Bissell Big Green Pet Pro differs in simply requiring less work and time to get the same results. Also, the overall size of the solution tank and extraction collection tank means that the same area that required three refills with the Hoover can now be cleaned on a single tank of solution and extraction. As promoted, the unit cleans well. It is somewhat noisy and I found the additional handheld extraction (the Pet Stain tool) is good, but does not perform quite as well as the standard 6" tool that is standard with the Big Green product line. The difference is not enough if the handle extraction resovoir built into the Pet Stain tool is important (it catches most foul smelling things like dog poo or vomit rather than dumping them into the main extraction catch tank). I would also note, although I'm not sure I can prove it matters, the overall build quality looks and feels noticeably more robust than the previous models I have bought over the years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First it's incredibly heavy & forget about turning it in a hallway. The first time I used it I liked the results. Thought I had finally found the answer to my light carpet / 2 dog situation. But less than an hour later the " rings " were there. You pet owners know what I mean. So I did the hallway again. Slow, small increments. Went over it with the dry feature. Same wait, same rings only larger & more spread out. Did I mention it's really heavy ? Why didn't I return it ? Because I paid so much money. I believed in Bissell. I thought maybe I had so much embedded in the carpet it was just going to take time. Well, I give up ! My neck & back are trashed and I'm just frustrated. I just bought the Shark Carpet blah blah and am waiting for the " rings " to appear. The Bissell will be donated. And I won't be needing any of their products in my life !

Carpet only 1 year old. Lifeproof Stainmaster carpet and had a new puppy so after spot cleaning with my little green, which I love by the way, I thought it was a good idea to do a good deep cleaning. After, my entire home smells like mildew and urine. It must have pulled up deeper stains and it was not pulling out enough of the water because it doesn't seem like it was drying fully. After 2 days it was still damp! I was jumping up and down on towels to pull up the moisture.
I don't know if it ruined the pad underneath or what happened. I have a cleaner coming in a few days to see what happens.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worth the price we paid! Our dog was sick and our bedroom looked like a bathroom when he was done, but this Pet Pro Cleaner did the job! Looks better than we've seen it in a long time! Feels like a bedroom and not a bathroom again. :) Also have an aging dog who's had many peeing accidents on our area rug. Pulled the pee smell out and made our area rug look and feel new again. We love this product. Wish we had done a before and after photo for those considering this product, but we didn't. We just wanted to get to cleaning our carpets! Their customer service was good too!
